Usage Features:

  • Outdoor Use Only: The appliance is designed and approved exclusively for outdoor use in a well-ventilated space. It must not be used inside a building, garage, camper, tent, car, or home due to the risk of carbon monoxide hazard.
  • Ignition System: Features a control knob with "OFF," "LOW," and "HIGH" positions. To light the burner, the knob is pressed down and turned counter-clockwise to "LOW," initiating ignition with an audible click.
  • Flame Adjustment: Once lit, the flame output can be adjusted between "LOW" and "HIGH" by turning the control knob.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Always perform a leak test with a soapy solution before initial use, after connecting a new cylinder, and upon re-assembly.
    • Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids near the appliance.
    • An LP-cylinder not connected for use must not be stored near the appliance.
    • Children and adults should be alerted to high surface temperatures and kept away to avoid burns or clothing ignition.
    • Careful supervision of children and pets is required when they are near the appliance.
    • Any protective device removed for servicing must be replaced before operation.
    • Do not hang clothing or other flammable materials on or near the appliance.
    • If the appliance has been submerged in water, do not use it; contact a qualified service technician.
    • The LP-gas supply cylinder must be constructed and marked according to U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) or CAN/CSA-B339 standards, include an overfilling prevention device, and a collar to protect the cylinder valve.
    • Use only the pressure regulator supplied with the fire pit.
    • If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the control knob to "OFF," wait 5 minutes for gas to dissipate, and then reattempt ignition.
    • If the burner flame is blue and very small, check the gas cylinder for low pressure or emptiness.
    • If flames lift away from the burner, backfire occurs, or thick black smoke is produced, turn off the fire pit immediately and have it serviced by a qualified technician.
  • Placement: Must be placed on a firm, level, non-combustible outdoor surface, away from grass or dirt to ensure proper safety venting.
  • Cylinder Connection: The LP cylinder is placed in a holder assembly, secured with a locking bolt, and connected to the regulator by hand, turning clockwise.
  • First Use Smoke/Odor: Expect smoke and odor from manufacturing oils during the first 30 minutes of use; this is normal and will dissipate.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Cleaning:
    • Keep exterior surfaces clean using warm soapy water. Avoid flammable or corrosive cleaning agents.
    • Ensure the burner area remains dry during cleaning. If the gas control is exposed to water, it must be replaced.
    • Keep the appliance area clear of combustible materials, gasoline, flammable vapors, liquids, and debris.
    • Ensure ventilation openings of the cylinder enclosure are clear.
  • Hose Inspection: Check the hose for cracks or worn sections before each use. Replace if damaged, using a manufacturer-specified assembly.
  • Annual Inspection: The unit should be inspected at least annually by a qualified service person for general condition, gas connections, and the presence of spiders, spider webs, or other insects.
  • Airflow Maintenance: Ensure unobstructed airflow. Keep controls, burner, and circulating air passageways clean. Signs of blockage include insufficient temperature, uneven glow, or popping noises. Clean burner holes with a pipe cleaner or compressed air.
  • Storage:
    • Turn the control knob and LP cylinder valve to "OFF."
    • Allow at least 45 minutes for the fire pit to cool before handling.
    • Disconnect the regulator from the cylinder and remove the cylinder.
    • Store the cylinder outdoors in a well-ventilated area, out of reach of children, with threaded valve plugs tightly installed. Do not store it in a building, garage, or any other closed area.
    • The fire pit itself can be stored indoors ONLY if the cylinder is disconnected and removed.
    • Cover the fire pit with the provided PVC cover (L) to maximize product life, especially if not stored in a dry location.
    • Store in an area sheltered from inclement weather (rain, sleet, hail, snow, dust, debris).
  • Corrosion: In salt-air environments, corrosion occurs more quickly. Frequently check for corroded areas and repair promptly.
  • Lava Rocks: Do not cover the shield with lava rocks to avoid ignition failure. If exposed to water, lava rocks may pop when the fire is ignited; replace the cover lid after each use to prevent this.
