䙟 Data Communication Module䠄DCM䠅
In-vehicle data communication uses CAN to transmit/receive data to/from each unit, while
the external communication takes place with the server via the roof antenna and the sub-
antenna in the instrument panel to provide telematics services.
The data communication module that is the heart of the system is located in the center of the
automobile and in the passenger compartment in order to reduce the impact of collisions.
By specification, in the event of a collision (forward collision) or a power supply failure from
the vehicle battery during an SOS call, the DCM internal battery (BUB: Back Up Battery)
provides power so that emergency reports can continue.
The module adopted a secondary battery, which recharges from the vehicle battery when the
ignition switch is ON.
