OBSTRUCTIONS THAT MAY LIMIT TREESTAND USE! NEVER RELY ON A TREE BRANCH FOR SUPPORT!
CHECK THE GROUND UNDER THE LADDER STAND TO MAKE SURE IT IS FIRM AND LEVEL. SLOPING GROUND OR AN UNEVEN SURFACE
(ONE LADDER SECTION ON A ROCK FOR EXAMPLE) CAN CAUSE YOUR STAND TO TILT OR SHIFT AS YOU CLIMB.
ALWAYS MAINTAIN THREE POINTS OF CONTACT WHEN YOU CLIMB THE LADDER SECTION OF THIS STAND!
NEVER JUMP OR BOUNCE ON A TREESTAND TO SECURE IT TO THE TREE!
PULL UP A BOW, BACKPACK, FIREARM OR OTHER EQUIPMENT ONLY AFTER BEING SECURE IN THE TREESTAND. FIREARMS MUST BE

Overview

This document describes the Solo Pro Ladder Treestand, a hunting stand designed for single-user elevated hunting.

Function Description

The Solo Pro Ladder Treestand is an elevated hunting platform that allows a single user to hunt from a tree. It is designed to be assembled and secured to a tree, providing a stable platform and seat for the hunter. The treestand includes a ladder for ascent and descent, a platform for standing, a seat, and armrests with a gunrest. It is crucial to use a full body harness at all times when using this treestand to prevent serious injury or death from falls.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Weight Limit: Single user, 300 lbs. total (including all gear). This limit must not be exceeded.
  • Tree Size: Minimum 8-inch diameter, maximum 20-inch diameter.
  • Hardware: All bolts used are 1/4" threads, grade 5.
  • Materials: The stand is made from steel, and rust may develop on uncoated parts, which is considered normal.
  • Components:
    • Platform: Consists of two platform sections, two platform braces, and a yoke.
    • Seat/Brace: Includes a seat base, left and right seat supports, and cross tension bars.
    • Armrest: Comprises an armrest frame, left and right gunrest arms, a gunrest bar, a foam seat, and a gunrest pad.
    • Ladder Column: Made up of top, middle, and bottom ladder sections, and stabilizer male and female sections.
    • Stabilization: Utilizes a platform ratchet strap, short strap for the ratchet, short ladder stabilizer straps with cam buckles, and long ladder stabilizer straps with loop ends.

Usage Features

  • Safety First:
    • Fall Arrest System (FAS): A full body harness must be worn at all times after leaving the ground. Single safety belts and chest harnesses are not allowed.
    • Communication Device: A mobile phone, radio, whistle, signal flare, or Personal Locator Device (PLD) must be carried and readily available.
    • Inform Others: Always inform someone of your hunting location and expected duration.
    • Physical Condition: Only use if in good physical shape without physical limitations or medical conditions that prevent safe use. Consult a physician if unsure.
    • Substance Avoidance: Never use while taking drugs, alcohol, or certain prescription drugs that impair judgment or physical ability.
    • Weather Conditions: Avoid use during inclement weather (rain, lightning, windstorms, icy conditions). Return to the ground if such conditions arise.
    • Health: Do not use if feeling ill, nauseous, drowsy, or dizzy.
    • Patience: Be well-rested and never hurry; hurrying causes accidents.
  • Tree Selection:
    • Never use on a dead, leaning, diseased, or loose-barked tree.
    • Avoid utility poles or trees with obstructions that limit treestand use.
    • Never rely on a tree branch for support.
  • Ground Conditions:
    • Ensure the ground under the ladder stand is firm and level. Sloping or uneven surfaces can cause the stand to tilt or shift.
  • Climbing:
    • Always maintain three points of contact when climbing the ladder section.
    • Lean forward as you climb.
    • Do not jump or bounce on the treestand to secure it.
    • Ascent/Descent: Use extreme caution. Take your time and do not hurry.
  • Setup and Installation:
    • Team Effort: Requires at least three people (two helpers) for initial setup.
    • Ground Level Practice: Practice installing, adjusting, and using the treestand at ground level before elevated use.
    • Stabilization Straps: Ensure stabilizer straps run from the upper attachment point to the ladder column BEFORE setup. Never wrap them around ladder rungs.
    • Securing the Stand:
      • Position the ladder stand flat on the ground, approximately 3 feet from the tree base.
      • Lean the stand into an upright position until the teeth contact the tree.
      • Pull the base out until the platform is level.
      • Lightly bounce on the first rung to seat the ladder column.
      • Pivot the stabilizer bar up, ensuring it is perpendicular (90 degrees) to the ladder column.
      • Run the attached rope from the stabilizer bar around the tree and tie it off.
      • Unbuckle and re-route the long stabilizer straps around the back of the tree to form an "X," connecting them to the cam lock buckles and pulling tight.
      • Tighten all straps alternately until secure.
    • Post-Climb Harness Attachment: Immediately attach your safety strap and harness to the tree above your seating position before stepping onto the platform.
    • Harness Tether Length: Minimize tether length, adjusting it to be snug above the head in a sitting position and with minimum slack when climbing.
  • Equipment Handling:
    • Pull up bows, backpacks, firearms, or other equipment only after being secure in the treestand.
    • Firearms must be pulled up unloaded, chamber open, and muzzle down.
  • Gunrest: Do not use the gunrest bar as a handhold while climbing into or out of the stand.

Maintenance Features

  • Regular Inspection:
    • Before each use, inspect the treestand and harness for any damage, cracks, tears, cable wear, or abrasion.
    • Do not use if any damage is found. Contact customer service for repair/replacement.
    • Check every ladder section connection every time you use the stand. Do not use if sections are separating.
    • Look for nicks, gouges, cuts, cracks, bends, corrosion, or similar damage that could result from improper use, accidental damage, dropping, motor vehicle impact, or corrosive conditions.
  • Storage:
    • Do not leave the treestand outdoors when not in use.
    • Any stand tubing that fills with rainwater and freezes will rupture or burst. Do not use if this occurs.
    • The foam seat is removable for storage; do not leave the stand outdoors when not being used.
    • Store the seat in a dry place when not in use.
  • Cleaning/Care:
    • The powdercoat finish is durable; touch-ups may be needed for heavy wear or accidental impact areas.
    • Rust may develop on uncoated steel parts, which is normal and does not affect durability or performance.
  • Repairs/Modifications:
    • Never modify the stand by making unauthorized repairs, replacing parts, or altering/attaching anything unless explicitly authorized in writing by the manufacturer.
    • If any part is damaged, contact Summit Treestands or an authorized dealer for proper corrective action and/or replacement parts.
  • Documentation:
    • Keep written and video instructions in a safe place and review them at least annually.
    • The treestand owner is responsible for furnishing complete instructions to anyone who borrows or purchases the stand.
    • This Summit Treestand is designed as a complete system; never loan or sell only a portion of it.
  • Harness Suspension Trauma:
    • Carry a suspension relief strap and know how to use it.
    • Exercise legs by pushing off the tree or using the relief strap if suspended.
    • Consider carrying a device (e.g., screw-in steps, rope "Tree Descender") to assist with self-extraction if help is not available.
  • Warranty:
    • Summit Treestands, LLC offers a twelve (12) month warranty from the date of purchase against defects in material and manufacture.
    • The warranty does not cover misuse, misapplication, neglect, accident, improper installation, modification, adjustment, or repair.
    • Register the warranty online or by mail.
