This document outlines the features and usage instructions for the Sunbeam Feel Perfect Heated Throw, a range of electric throws designed to provide warmth and comfort. The series includes several models: TRF4000 Reversible Micro Fleece and Sherpa Fleece, TRF4100 Cosy Microfleece, TRF4200 Soft Sherpa Fleece, TRF4300 Faux Fur, and TRP4400 Micro Plush.
The primary function of these devices is to offer a customizable heating experience, allowing users to select from various heat settings and auto-off timers to suit their preferences. The heated throws are designed for personal use, perfect for lounging on a sofa, in an armchair, or even on futons, adjustable beds, and waterbeds.
The Sunbeam Feel Perfect Heated Throw utilizes exclusive SleepPerfect® technology, which incorporates a unique heating element and a built-in microprocessor. This technology constantly senses changes in room and body temperature, adjusting the power input to maintain a consistent level of comfort at the selected heat setting. The heating element is flexible, allowing the throw to drape comfortably around the user. A notable feature is its fast heat-up capability, reaching the selected temperature in just 10 minutes, eliminating the need for prolonged preheating.
For enhanced safety, the heated throw includes nine levels of protection. The microprocessor continuously monitors the resistance of the heating wire, adjusting power to prevent overheating. In the event of a fault or abnormal operation, the microprocessor automatically cuts off power to the throw. A second microprocessor acts as a backup for added security. Furthermore, all Feel Perfect electric throws are equipped with a thermal backup fuse, independent of the throw rug control, which detects abnormal temperature variations and switches off the throw to prevent overheating.
The control unit features a power/standby button, heat settings, and timer settings. When the power button is pressed, the heated throw automatically defaults to Setting 6 (Fast Pre-heat). Users can then cycle through the six available heat settings using the temperature button. Heat settings 1-3 are recommended for continuous or all-night use, while settings 4-5 are for medium pre-heat, and setting 6 is for fast pre-heat. Pre-heat settings should not be used for more than 30 minutes.
A safety auto-off feature is integrated, allowing users to choose an automatic shut-off after 1, 3, or 9 hours. This provides peace of mind and energy efficiency. The device is designed to be used as an overblanket only.
To use the heated throw, first, ensure the control connector is firmly inserted into the socket on the throw until it clicks into position. Then, plug the control into a 230-240V power outlet and turn on the power. It is crucial to connect the control to the heated throw before plugging it into the power outlet; otherwise, the safety system may activate, preventing the throw from heating. The control unit should be kept away from heating sources like heaters and lamps and should not be covered during use.
The heated throw is versatile and can be used in various settings for personal warmth. Its design allows it to conform to the body, making it ideal for relaxing. The six heat settings provide flexibility for different comfort levels, from gentle warmth for extended periods to rapid heating when immediate warmth is desired. The auto-off timer adds convenience, allowing users to set a duration for heating without worrying about manually turning it off.
The Sunbeam Feel Perfect Heated Throws are designed for easy maintenance, featuring waterproof heating elements that make them fully immersible and safe for both hand and machine washing. Before cleaning, always ensure the controls are unplugged from the blanket.
For spot cleaning, sponge the affected area with a neutral wool detergent or mild soap flakes mixed with lukewarm water. Rinse twice with clean water to remove detergent, then compress the wet area between two towels to remove excess water.
For hand washing, immerse the blanket in lukewarm water with a neutral wool detergent or mild soap flakes. Soak for five minutes, gently squeeze the soapy water through the fabric, and rinse thoroughly in clean, lukewarm water. Do not wring the blanket.
For machine washing, the blanket can be washed in a domestic washing machine on a WOOL or DELICATES cycle with a neutral wool detergent or mild soap flakes, at a temperature below 40°C. High-speed or extra spin cycles should be avoided.
After washing, the blanket should be line-dried by draping it across several lines of a clothesline, avoiding direct heat and the use of pegs on the wired areas. Hairdryers or heaters should not be used for drying. It is essential to ensure that both the blanket and control sockets are completely dry before using the throw again.
Machine drying is also possible on a LOW setting for a maximum of 15 minutes. After tumble drying, gently pull out any creases from the fabric. Line dry afterward to ensure the blanket and control sockets are completely dry. Again, avoid using a hairdryer or heater.
When storing the blanket, allow it to cool down before folding. It can remain on the bed all year round as a comfortable underblanket, with the controls removed and stored separately until winter. If removed from the bed, roll or fold it loosely and store it in a blanket bag or the bag it was supplied in. Avoid pressing sharp creases into the blanket and do not place heavy items on top of it during storage.
Regular inspection for signs of wear or damage on the throw rug cords is recommended. If any damage is suspected, the throw should be returned to an authorized service agent for inspection. The appliance should not be used by very young children (0-3 years), infirm persons, or persons insensitive to heat. Children over three years old can use the appliance if controls are pre-set by a parent/guardian or if they are adequately instructed on safe operation. The electric throw is not intended for use in hospitals. If used on an adjustable bed, ensure the throw rug and cord do not become trapped or rucked.
