components are enclosed and in good condition. Please see our Warranty section for full details of our Warranty
conditions. If you find a component missing or a fault, please contact your SunnCamp stockist for advice.
SITE SELECTION
Select ground that is flat, smooth and dry.
Endeavour to locate the awning entrance
away from direct wind. DO NOT erect on
rough ground where sharp rocks etc may
cause damage to your product.
AWNING
Lay the awning flysheet out on the selected
ground area with the entrance correctly
positioned. Slide the beaded rear edge into
the caravan’s awning channel.
POLES
All steel poles are folded down to aid
storage. When fitting the pole sections
together, make sure that the pole body is
fully inserted into its adjoining ferrule.
1. Take the arched steel roof pole and slot it
together.
2. Slot the steel corner leg poles together –
make sure that the quick lock bracket is
released to allow adjustment.
3. Insert the steel roof pole into the roof
sleeve and connect a leg to either end. Each
leg end slots onto a pin on a ring. The pin
and ring are attached both to an adjustable
strap running from the awning canvas and to
a spacing strap. The spacing strap runs
between both legs to ensure correct spacing.
The spacing strap may become a trip hazard
when erection is complete and should be
pinned down along its length. The ring is also
the securing point for the awning peg.
4. Starting with one pole, insert the ring pin
into the end of the pole. Next go to the other
end and insert the ring pin. Extend the end
leg section to bring the pole under tension,
close the quick lock bracket.
5. Attach the pole clips on the flysheet onto
each pole to bring the awning flysheet into
the correct shape.
6. Bring the awning to an upright position by
pegging out the front guy ropes (these may
need to be re-pegged at a later stage).
ENTRANCE
Ensure that all entrances to the awning are
closed with zips fully secured. Failure to do
this will result in your awning being out of
alignment when fitting the awning pegs.
AWNING PEGS
Peg the awning’s remaining pegging points
to the ground. Pegs should be inserted into
the ground at a 45 degree angle away from
the awning. Hammer the pegs into the
ground with a suitable mallet. DO NOT
PRESS PEGS INTO THE GROUND WITH
YOUR FOOT AS THIS MAY BEND THE
PEGS. For extraction of pegs use a tent peg
extractor. To allow easy hooking and
unhooking of pegging points at entrances to
your awning (for opening and closing doors)
leave pegs used at the entrances slightly
raised.
GUY ROPES
Secure each guy rope by positioning with a
peg at a suitable distance from the awning.
When pegged tighten each guy rope using,
the guy rope’s slider, equally to bring the
awning to it’s natural shape. DO NOT OVER
TIGHTEN THE GUY ROPES. GUY ROPES
ARE A TRIP HAZARD ESPECIALLY IN THE
DARK.
ADJUSTABLE REAR SUPPORT POLES
Fit the two adjustable rear support poles
vertically (one in each back corner) by
inserting the flattened top of each support
pole into reinforced retaining pocket
positioned at the awning’s rear corner
behind a triangular panel. The awning’s
weather seal pads should be positioned in
between the caravan’s wall and the support
poles. Both rear support poles should be
extended and the mini quick lock brackets
locked to hold the poles under tension.
FRONT ENTRANCE/SIDE
ENTRANCES/WINDOWS
The front entrance of your awning can be
rolled out of the way or it can be raised to
create a porch. Should you wish to create a
porch, a porch pole set is available to
purchase from your SunnCamp stockist.
When you close the doors on your awning
check carefully that the zip covers are fully
secured into place by ensuring the velcro
tabs are aligned. Ensure the awning’s skirt is
also correctly positioned and secured by
awning pegs. Failure to do this may result in
water ingress.
The windows have curtains which can be
rolled up and secured with the retaining
toggle or closed and secured in place with
velcro.
WEATHER SKIRT
Ensure the weather skirt to the base of the
awning is correctly laid to prevent water
ingress. The skirt can be pegged.
SAFETY
The awning fabric use by SunnCamp is fire
retardant to British Standard and whilst fire
retardant it is not fire proof and therefore you
must not smoke or use a naked flame in or
near the awning. This includes traditional
‘camp fires’. Guy ropes/awning pegs should
be marked so they are not a trip hazard.
SAFETY WARNING: BBQ’S/GAS
APPLIANCES
Your awning has a sewn in label warning
against CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING.
Please be aware of carbon monoxide
poisoning and do not under any
circumstances use or leave a used BBQ
(even if you think it is still not burning) in your
awning or tent.
