Overview

The SuperPonics SuperCloner 14 is a hydroponic system designed for cloning plants, utilizing a fusion of proven hydroponic technologies. This system is manufactured by SuperCloset.

Function Description:

The SuperCloner 14 is a complete hydroponic system specifically engineered for the propagation of plants through cloning. It provides an optimal environment for root development, ensuring successful cloning. The system operates by circulating oxygenated water around the plant cuttings, promoting rapid and healthy root growth.

Important Technical Specifications:

The SuperCloner 14 system includes several key components:

  • Reservoir: This is the main container that holds the nutrient solution and houses the air stones. It features channels on its rim for the placement of air pump tubing.
  • Lid: The lid fits on top of the reservoir and has openings for the net cups.
  • Net Cups: These cups hold the growing medium (e.g., rockwool cubes) and the plant cuttings, allowing their roots to extend into the nutrient solution. The system is designed for 14 net cups, indicating its capacity for cloning up to 14 plants simultaneously.
  • Air Stones: Two blue air stones are included. These are placed at the bottom of the reservoir and are crucial for oxygenating the water. They feature a male end designed to fit into the air pump tubing.
  • Air Pump (Eco2 Air Pump): This pump is responsible for pushing air through the air pump tubing to the air stones, creating bubbles that oxygenate the nutrient solution. It has metallic outputs for connecting the tubing. A critical note for the air pump is that it should never be placed in water.
  • Air Pump Tubing: Black tubing connects the air pump to the air stones, delivering air for oxygenation. The tubing is routed through the channels on the rim of the reservoir.

Usage Features:

The SuperCloner 14 is designed for straightforward setup and operation:

  1. Unpacking: Users are instructed to carefully unbox the system and remove all contents from inside the reservoir. A Quality Assurance Checklist (QAC) is provided to ensure all necessary components are present.
  2. Reservoir Preparation: The lid is removed from the reservoir and set aside. The channels on the rim of the reservoir are noted for air pump tubing placement.
  3. Air Stone Placement: The two blue air stones are placed at the bottom of the reservoir.
  4. Tubing Connection: The air pump tubing is connected to the male end of the air stones. The tubing is then arranged into the channels located on the rim of the reservoir.
  5. Air Pump Connection: The Eco2 Air Pump is located, and the open ends of the black tubing from the air stones are connected to the metallic outputs on the air pump.
  6. Lid and Net Cup Installation: The lid is placed back on the SuperCloner 14, and the net cups are inserted into the designated openings.
  7. Water Level Management: The manual provides specific guidance on water levels for different stages of growth:
    • Pre-Root Water Level: At this stage, the water should be touching the bottom of the net cup. This ensures the cuttings have immediate access to water and nutrients to encourage root development.
    • Post-Root Water Level: Once roots have developed, the water level should be lowered to create a 1-inch gap between the water and the bottom of the net cup. This allows for air pruning and further oxygenation of the root zone.
  8. Growing Medium: The suggested growing medium for the net cups is a rockwool cube.

Maintenance Features:

The primary maintenance instruction highlighted is the continuous operation of the air pump and air stones:

  • Constant Oxygenation: A "SUPER GROW TIP" emphasizes the critical importance of keeping the air pump and air stones running at all times when the system is in use. This ensures that the plant roots receive a constant supply of oxygen, which is vital for their health and growth. Lack of oxygen can lead to root rot and plant death.
  • Air Pump Placement: Users are explicitly warned that the air pump should never be placed in water, indicating it is not waterproof and could be damaged or cause an electrical hazard.

The SuperCloner 14 aims to provide a reliable and efficient solution for plant cloning, leveraging effective oxygenation and precise water level management to support robust root development.
