Practice using the winch after installation to become familiar with its operation.
Regularly inspect wire rope and equipment for wear; replace frayed rope immediately.
Do not overload, attempt prolonged pulls, or use vehicle to assist winch pulls.
Keep clear of winch, rope, and hook; use handsaver; never put fingers through hook.
Use leather gloves, do not let wire rope slide through hands, ensure 5 turns on drum.
Avoid extreme angles; do not use winch for lifting people or overhead hoisting.
Securely mount the relay box and winch using provided hardware and check tightness.
Install the bottom roller for the roller fairlead and secure it to the mounting plate.
Ensure no vehicle parts impede operation and mount winch with wire rope in underwind direction.
Do not substitute any strength grade weaker than ISO grade 4.6 for mounting hardware.
Disconnect battery leads before working on winch; wear eye protection and remove jewelry.
Route control box wires to motor and battery; attach circuit breaker to red battery wire.
After wiring, check drum rotation direction; recheck wiring if incorrect.
Disengage clutch to pull rope; re-engage clutch fully before winching.
Connect pendant control switch; keep switch assembly clean and dry.
Remove pendant control and store safely to prevent unauthorized winch operation.
