Overview

The Surebonder CI-800F is a cordless, high-temperature, full-size glue gun designed for strong bonding applications. It is specifically recommended for high-temperature bonding to achieve a better and more durable bond. This versatile tool can be used to bond a wide range of materials, including wood, metal, plastic, fabric, leather, and ceramic.

Technical Specifications:

  • Power Source: Cordless operation, requiring a 120V electrical outlet for heating.
  • Glue Stick Diameter: Designed for 0.43-inch diameter mini glue sticks.
  • Operating Temperature: The nozzle and melted glue can reach temperatures up to 380°F (193°C).
  • Safety Fuse: Features an internal safety fuse that automatically shuts off the glue gun in the event of a short circuit, enhancing user safety.
  • Polarized Plug: Equipped with a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other) to reduce the risk of electric shock. This plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet in only one way. If it doesn't fit, the user is advised to reverse the plug or contact a qualified electrician if it still doesn't fit, and not to modify the plug.

Usage Features:

  • Heating Time: Requires approximately 5 minutes to heat up after being plugged into a 120V electrical outlet.
  • Glue Stick Insertion: Glue sticks are inserted into the back of the glue gun, into the feeder tube.
  • Glue Dispensing: Glue is dispensed by squeezing the trigger. Repeated squeezing dispenses more glue. Continuous glue flow is maintained by adding additional glue sticks as needed. Initial startup typically requires about two glue sticks.
  • Immediate Bonding: Surfaces to be glued should be pressed together immediately after glue application for optimal adhesion.
  • Glue Stick Management: Users should not pull glue sticks from the glue gun. If changing glue types, the remainder of the current glue stick should be fed through the gun.
  • Cordless Operation: Once heated, the gun can be used cordlessly, offering greater flexibility and maneuverability during projects.
  • Side Fins: The gun is equipped with side fins, which allow it to lay safely on its side without glue backing up, preventing mess and potential damage.
  • Insulated Nozzle: Features an insulated nozzle to safeguard against burns during operation.
  • Storage: After use, the glue gun should be unplugged and allowed to cool completely before storing.

Maintenance Features:

  • Non-Repairable Fuse: If the internal fuse blows, the glue gun is not repairable and should not be used.
  • Recommended Glue Sticks: Only recommended 0.43-inch diameter glue sticks should be used to prevent issues like glue backing up at the inlet tube.
  • Cleaning: The work environment should be clean, dry, well-lit, and clear of flammable materials.
  • Storage: The glue gun should be stored locked up and away from children when not in use.
  • Cooling: Always allow the glue gun to cool before storing it.

Safety Information and Warnings:

  • General Electrical Safety: When using electric tools, basic safety precautions must always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury.
  • Work Environment: The work environment must be clean, dry, well-lit, and free of flammable materials.
  • Environmental Restrictions: Do not use the glue gun outdoors or near water. Do not expose the gun to rain, moisture, or direct sunlight.
  • Child Safety: Keep the glue gun away from children and store it securely when not in use.
  • Eye Protection: Always wear safety glasses, in compliance with ANSI Z87.1, to protect against accidental discharge or splashes of hot glue.
  • Handling: Do not carry the glue gun by its cord or unplug it by pulling the electrical cord. Always grasp the plug itself.
  • Unattended Use: The glue gun is on when plugged in and should not be left unattended.
  • Structural Fasteners: Hot melt glue should not be used to replace structural fasteners.
  • Extension Cords: Do not use extension cords with this appliance.
  • Material Compatibility: Only use recommended glue sticks. Using other materials may lead to malfunction or safety hazards.
  • Accidental Discharge Prevention: Avoid accidental discharge. Do not touch the glue stick or trigger except when intending to dispense glue. Applying too much force when feeding or pushing the glue stick into the heated gun can cause hot glue to be unexpectedly expelled from the nozzle or to flow back from the inlet tube.
  • Nozzle and Melted Glue Contact: CAUTION: Do not touch the glue gun nozzle or melted glue, as temperatures can reach 380°F. In case of accidental contact, do not attempt to remove the glue. Immediately place the burned area into cold water.
  • Protective Clothing: Always wear protective clothing, including safety glasses, gloves, a long-sleeve t-shirt, and pants, when operating the glue gun.
  • Flammable Materials: Keep the glue gun away from flammable materials.
  • Manufacturer Responsibility: The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for consequential or indirect damages resulting from the use of this product.
  • Positioning: Do not elevate the front of the glue gun. Always use the side fins or attached stand to position the gun safely.
  • Saving Instructions: Users are advised to save the safety instructions for future reference.
