Why does the Swagelok Power Tool tube ovality become unacceptable?
    • K
      kschultzJul 31, 2025
Unacceptable tube ovality can occur if the forming pressure is either too high or too low; adjust the pressure to achieve proper results by turning the roller adjustment knob. Also, check the bend shoe for the proper size and excessive wear.

What to do if wrinkles occur on the inside surface of the bend when using the Swagelok Power Tool?
    • T
      Todd ThomasAug 5, 2025
If wrinkles appear on the inside surface of the bend, it could be due to insufficient forming pressure. Try applying more pressure on the tube by turning the roller knob clockwise, then recalibrate. The bend shoe may be worn, or the rollers or bend shoe may be the wrong size for the tube. Another reason could be that the bend shoe radius may be too small, so change to a larger-radius bend shoe.

What to do if the Swagelok Power Tool tube kinks?
    • A
      amberwiseAug 9, 2025
If the tube kinks, it is likely due to an excessive gap between the clamp arm and rollers. Bend with a gap of approximately 3/8 in. or 10 mm between the clamp arm and rollers.

Why is the bend angle not consistent from bend to bend with the Swagelok Power Tool?
    • K
      Kurt AlexanderAug 13, 2025
Inconsistent bend angles can occur if the roller knob has been rotated between bends. To prevent this, do not rotate the roller knob after setup is completed.

What to do if excessive tube deformation occurs on the back surface of the bend with the Swagelok Power Tool?
    • A
      amandacarrAug 18, 2025
If excessive tube deformation occurs on the back surface of the bend, it is likely because the forming pressure is excessive. Reduce forming pressure by turning the roller knob counterclockwise, then recalibrate.

Why does the Swagelok Power Tool machine make excessive noise?
    • D
      Donna CampbellAug 21, 2025
Excessive noise from the machine can be caused by a tube wall thickness that is beyond the capacity of the machine; use suitable material for proper machine operation. It could also indicate that the gearbox requires lubrication, so lubricate the gearbox.

What to do if the Swagelok Power Tool machine fails to bend tube and the overload indicator illuminates?
    • J
      Jeffrey JamesAug 27, 2025
If the machine fails to bend the tube and the overload indicator illuminates, it means that the tube wall thickness or hardness is beyond the capacity of the machine. Use suitable material for proper machine operation.
