Overview

This document is a user manual for the Swim & Fun Santorini family swimming pool, available in two sizes: Ø 3.50 x 0.90 CM (Art. 1942) and Ø 4.60 x 0.90 CM (Art. 1943). The manual provides instructions and safety information in Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, English, and Polish.

Function Description:

The Santorini family swimming pool is designed for above-ground use in gardens. It is a steel-walled pool that comes with a liner, a skimmer filter, and a safety ladder. The pool's primary function is to provide a recreational swimming area. The skimmer filter system is crucial for maintaining water quality by circulating and filtering the pool water. The safety ladder provides safe entry and exit from the pool.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Pool Sizes:
    • Art. 1942: Ø 3.50 x 0.90 CM
    • Art. 1943: Ø 4.60 x 0.90 CM
  • Pool Wall: 0.30 mm steel
  • Pool Liner: 0.30 mm
  • Skimmer Filter:
    • Filtering speed: 2.98 m³/h
    • Flow rate: 2 m³/h
    • Motor: 72W
    • Voltage: 12V
    • Transformer: 230/12V
    • IP class: IPX8 (resistant to dust, solid particles, and moisture)
  • Safety Ladder:
    • Maximum load: 85 kg
    • Materials: SUS304 (bolts, washers, cap nuts, nuts, M6X45), PP (steps, lock, sitting platform), Coated Steel (bracket, studdle, foot bar, handrail)

Usage Features:

  • Assembly: The manual provides detailed steps for assembling the pool, including the bottom rails, pool wall, and skimmer filter. It emphasizes the importance of a solid, 100% level base for the pool.
  • Skimmer Filter Operation: The skimmer filter uses a 12V surface pump to circulate water through a filter cartridge. The pump must always be submerged in water during operation to prevent damage from overheating. The filter cartridge removes dirt, algae, and oils from the water.
  • Water Treatment: The manual advises against adding chemicals directly to the skimmer. Instead, chemicals should be dissolved in a bucket of water and distributed along the pool edge. A child-safe liquid chlorine dispenser can also be used.
  • Safety Guidelines:
    • Adult supervision is required when the pool is in use.
    • No diving or jumping from the pool edge.
    • Do not sit or climb on the pool wall.
    • Always follow installation and safety instructions.
    • Ensure the pool and filter are correctly installed.
    • No rough play in or around the pool.
    • No modifications to the pool's construction or removal of parts.
    • The ladder must be placed on a solid, level foundation and can support only one person at a time (max 85 kg).
    • Always face the ladder when climbing in or out.
    • Remove the ladder when the pool is not in use.
    • The skimmer filter must be turned off when the pool is in use.
    • The skimmer filter must NEVER run without water.
    • Avoid touching the skimmer filter with wet hands while it's running.
    • Always disconnect power before handling the filter.
    • Handle the filter on a dry surface.
    • Do not store the filter in a damp place to avoid electric shock.
    • Children and adults must not sit or lean on the filter.
    • If the power cord is damaged, the entire system must be replaced.
  • In-ground Installation (Optional): While primarily designed for above-ground use, the manual provides guidelines for in-ground installation. However, it explicitly states that the product warranty is no longer valid if the pool is used in-ground. In-ground installation requires specific preparation, including a 15 cm reinforced concrete base, insulation around the pool wall, and potentially supporting walls for oval pools.

Maintenance Features:

  • Filter Cleaning: The filter should be cleaned regularly by rinsing it with a garden hose or under a tap. It can also be washed in a dishwasher. Warm, soapy water can be used for deeper cleaning. If lime deposits form or if the filter is full of algae and dirt, it may need replacement. A spare filter should always be kept on hand.
  • Regular Checks: Regularly check all parts of the pool and ladder for intactness and functionality. Replace worn parts and tighten all screws, nuts, and bolts.
  • Water Quality: Regularly check and adjust the water's pH and chlorine levels to keep the water fresh and disinfected.
  • Winterizing:
    • Clean the pool thoroughly, adjust pH, perform a chlorine shock treatment, and add pool winterizer to prevent algae and lime growth.
    • Check all frame joints, pool wall, screws, and bolts.
    • Inspect for rust and paint rusted areas with anti-rust paint.
    • Check the liner for secure attachment and holes. Repair any holes with a pool repair kit.
    • Remove all pool accessories, including the ladder.
    • Use flexible "ice absorbers" (item 1613) on the water surface to minimize damage from heavy icing.
    • Cover the pool with a dark winter cover to prevent dirt accumulation and inhibit algae/bacteria growth.
    • The skimmer filter must be disconnected and stored in a frost-free location during winter or extended periods of non-use. Clean the filter before drying and storing.
  • Ground Cover: Always place a ground cover under the pool liner to minimize mechanical wear and prevent punctures from stones and roots. This also makes the pool bottom more comfortable to walk on.
  • Summer Cover (Accessory): Insulates the pool to reduce heat loss, extends the bathing season, and protects from airborne dirt and leaves. Essential if a solar heater is connected.
  • Winter Cover (Accessory): Used in autumn to prevent leaves, insects, and dirt from entering the pool. It also provides some protection against unauthorized access.
  • Telescopic Pole (Accessory): For cleaning the pool bottom and surface.
  • Pool Care Basic Set (Accessory): A basic set of pool accessories for general pool maintenance.
  • Deep Leaf Rake (Accessory): For cleaning leaves and dirt from the pool bottom.
  • Wall Brush (Accessory): An extra-large, soft brush for cleaning the pool liner.
  • Pool Chlorine Dispenser (Accessory): For dispensing slow-dissolving 20g chlorine tablets. Child-proof model.
  • Thermometer (Accessory): Displays bathing water temperature.
  • Winter Protection for Skimmer (Accessory): Absorbs extra pressure from icing in the skimmer during winter.
  • Pool Ice Absorbers (Accessory): Placed across the pool surface to absorb pressure from icing and reduce the risk of frost damage to the liner.
  • Winter Plug for Return Inlet (Accessory): A plug to close the return inlet when dismounting hoses.
  • Shut-off Valve (Accessory): Two pieces are used per pool, one for the skimmer and one for the return inlet.
  • Water Care Products (Accessories): pH Minus, pH Plus, Chlorine Starter, Chlorine Weektab, Combi tabs, Pool Test Strips, Clear Pool, Easy Pool. These products are used for pH adjustment, disinfection, algae prevention, and overall water clarity.
