The system no longer
responds
− Reset all functions to their default settings; Page 169.
− Briefly disconnect the power adapter plug from the power
socket.
The batteries are empty within
a short time
− The batteries are empty or defective.
− Place the handset in the base unit / charging station properly.
Clean the contact surfaces on the handset and base unit /
charging station with a soft, dry cloth.
− Place the handset in the base unit / charging station for 8 hours.
The batteries can no longer
be charged
− The batteries are defective.
The caller number display
(CLIP) does not function
− The caller number display (CLIP) is a supplementary service
offered by your telephone network provider. Contact your net-
work provider for further information.
− The caller has suppressed the transmission of their phone
number.
The answering machine does
not record any messages
− Check that the answering machine is activated.
− Check whether the answering machine memory is full. Delete
messages, if necessary.
The answering machine
cannot be switched to Answer
and Record mode
− Check whether the answering machine memory is full. The
answering machine then switches automatically to Answer Only
mode in which case no messages can be left. Delete mess-
ages, if necessary.
No remote access functions
can be executed
− The telephone used for remote access must be set to tone
dialling.
− Check that the answering machine is activated.
− Check that the correct PIN code has been entered for remote
access; Page 188. If you have forgotten the PIN code for
remote access, you can refer to the PIN code for remote ac-
cess in the menu or reset the phone and PIN code for remote
access to the default setting.
− Press the keys slowly firmly enough.
− Start remote access while the outgoing message is being
played. If the length of the outgoing message is too short, re-
cord another outgoing message which is longer.
