OPERATION
6
6.1 Refrigerator-freezer has two chambers (RC and FC) with two compressors for each
chamber. This allows switching off any chamber separately. RC is equipped with light bulb
which is situated in lighting box 2 (pic. B.1). RC of the appliances DRF-111V and DRF-113V is
also equipped with fan 3 in order to keep the equal temperature mode inside the chamber. The fan
operates only at closed RC door and together with compressor. Light bulb is turned on if you
open the RC door.
6.2 Controls and indication are situated on the control panel 1 (pic. B.1 and pic. B.3).
6.3 Use the power cord to connect the appliance to the mains power. The thermostat handles
3 and 5 (pic. B.3) should be set in "OFF" position. The appliance (or any chamber) is switched on
by turning the handle 3 or 5 clockwise, which starts with the light click. After starting or stopping
the appliance, the operation of the compressors may be somewhat louder.
The re-switching on of the appliance is to be done not earlier than 3-4 min after switching off.
6.4 Temperatures of the appliance chambers are set by handle 3 for RC and by handle 5 for
FC (pic. B.3). Turn the appropriate handle clockwise from left to right in order to reduce the
temperature. The set temperatures are kept automatically.
There is a heating system in front of the appliance around FC which is intended to prevent
moisture condensation on metal surfaces. During operation of the appliance depending of ambient
temperature this surface becomes hot but it is not the reason to worry. In case of significant
increase of ambient temperature (more than 32
0
C) revise the location of the appliance (item 5.4)
and provide good ventilation of its rear wall.
By initial switching on FC or after long-time pause in operation you should switch
on FC for not less than 2-3 hours.
6.5 Green lamps 1 and 8 (pic. B.3) are on when the refrigerator-freezer is in operation.
Besides by switching on FC red signal lamp 7 is on and keeps illuminating until the FC storage
temperature (minus 18
0
C) is reached. If you need to freeze the food activate the fast freezing
function by pressing the mode selection switch 6 in "Freezing" position, while the yellow lamp 9
goes on. Switch this function off by pressing the switch 6 in "Storage" position, the lamp 9 goes
off.
Alarm activates if the door is opened for the angle not less than 6
0
. When the door is closed
again the alarm stops.
Liquids and gasses circulating in sealed cooling systems of the appliance may produce
certain noise during operation of compressors and in off mode. You may also hear light crackles
of materials due to temperature deformations as well as snaps of temperature sensors. Don't
worry, it's a normal operation.
6.6 Choose the chamber for food depending on intended storage periods.
6.6.1 RC is intended for cooling and short-term storage of fresh food and culinary processed
food as well as vegetables, fruits and beverages. Beverages in bottles can be stored on the
bottle rack 5 (pic. B.1). Store food with specific odour and odour absorbing food should be
packed and in package in the door pan under the lid 20.
Basic recommendations on location and storage of food in RC are given in table 3.
Keep the air flow holes of the fan open in order to provide normal operation of
the appliance (models DRF-111V, DRF-113V).
6.6.2 Freezing and storage of frozen food in freezing chamber.
FC is intended for freezing and long-term storage of frozen food as well as for ice making.
The amount of fresh food that can be frozen within 24 hours at the ambient temperature of 25
