The SYLVANIA SBT1100 Bluetooth FM Transmitter is a versatile in-car accessory designed to enhance your driving experience with hands-free communication and stereo audio streaming. Utilizing Bluetooth 3.0 technology, this device allows you to connect your smartphone wirelessly and stream audio through your car's FM system. It offers multiple solutions for audio playback and charging, making it a comprehensive tool for modern drivers.
The primary function of the SBT1100 is to act as a bridge between your smartphone and your car's FM radio, enabling you to play music and make calls wirelessly. It features three USB ports: one dedicated for playing music files from a USB flash drive, and two others designed for charging both iOS and Android devices. Additionally, the transmitter supports TF cards and offers an AUX input/output, providing a wide array of audio source options.
When an incoming call is received while music is playing, the unit automatically switches to telephone mode, allowing for seamless transitions between entertainment and communication. The device is designed for easy setup, automatically turning on when plugged into your car's cigarette lighter port. It also features an automatic power-off function after 5 minutes of inactivity (without a flash drive or TF card inserted) to conserve power, requiring a long press of the multi-function button to reactivate.
To begin, plug the SBT1100 into your car's cigarette lighter port. The device will power on automatically. Tune your car radio to a vacant FM frequency, then adjust the transmitter to sync with the same frequency using the "CH+" and "CH-" buttons. For optimal audio quality, it's recommended to find a least-interfered vacant frequency and adjust the volume to an ideal level (volume 15 is often suitable). If you experience excessive noise, try a different vacant FM frequency or utilize the Aux-In port.
For first-time use, you'll need to pair your mobile phone with the SBT1100. Activate your phone's Bluetooth function, search for "SBT1100," and pair the devices. Once paired, the transmitter will automatically connect to your phone when it turns on, provided your phone's Bluetooth is active.
In music playing mode, an incoming call will automatically switch the unit to telephone mode. To answer an incoming call, press the "Answer the Call" button. To hang up a call, press the "hang up" button. To redial the last number, press the "Answer the Call" button twice. For privacy, you can answer a call privately (not via Bluetooth) by long-pressing the "Answer the Call" button for three seconds.
Insert a TF card into the TF card slot or a USB flash drive into the USB reader port. The device will automatically play MP3/WMA audio files from the inserted media.
The AUX input allows you to connect external audio devices like MP3/MP4 players using an audio cable (not included) to the "Aux input / Aux output" port. This enables you to stream audio from these devices through the transmitter. Conversely, the AUX output allows you to connect the SBT1100 to an external speaker's Aux In port, effectively using the unit as a card reader.
While audio is playing, a short press of the "M/►∥" button will pause or resume playback. A long press of the "M/►∥" button allows you to switch between audio sources: Bluetooth, TF card, USB flash drive, or Aux input.
Long-press the "VOL+ / ►|" button to increase the volume, and long-press the "◄◄ / VOL-" button to decrease it.
The SBT1100 includes two dedicated USB charging ports: one providing 5V 2.1A and the other 5V 1A. These different current outputs are suitable for various devices. Note that the USB port used for reading files is not intended for charging purposes.
To ensure continued operation and safety, it is crucial to avoid disassembling the product, as this will void the warranty and could pose safety risks. Always use shield cables when connecting to other devices to maintain compliance and prevent interference.
If you experience harmful interference with radio or television reception, you can try several measures: reorient or relocate the receiving antenna, increase the separation between the equipment and receiver, or connect the equipment to an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. Consulting a dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician may also be helpful.
The device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules, meaning it must not cause harmful interference and must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void your authority to operate the equipment.
