Check bearings on the gear box cover.
Rotate each bearing’s inner ring with fingers.
Check if bearings can be turned in smooth
and silent, and also check if bearing outer
ring is mounted on gear box & cover tightly.
If bearing rotation is uneven, noising, or
loose bearing mounted, then replace it.
Check oil seal for wear or damage, and
replace it if necessary.
Check driving shaft and gear for wear or
damage.
BEARING REPLACEMENT
Caution
Remove driving shaft bearing from left
crankcase using following tools;
Inner type bearing puller
Install new driving shaft bearing into left
crankcase.
Tool:
Press the bearing into cover with C type
hydraulic presser or bearing installer.
Never install used bearings. Once bearing
removed, it has to be replaced with new
one.
