An ideal, “must have” tool for a bassist at work. The preamp with MLO tone correction plus compressor is

designed to fulfill all studio and stage needs of bass players. This is a stomp box containing the most important tools

to create perfect bass sound. Very flexible EQ section plus the compressor are providing a wide range of sound

characters and dynamic adjustments. From extremely dynamic and saturated to highly compressed , as well as the

VINTAGE type with its soft tube-overdriven character.

The Bass engine can be connected and used in different ways:

- As an additional sound module connected to the input of the amplifier

- As a preamp connected simultaneously to the amplifier and the mixer via the line-out jack / XLR

- Connected straight to the mixer as a main source of sound without necessity to use a bass amp on stage

The Taurus T-DI Plus MK-2 is a boutique bass pedal effect from the Taurus Silver Line, designed to meet the demands of professional musicians. It functions as a bass engine, offering comprehensive sound shaping and dynamic control for studio and stage use.

Function Description:

The T-DI Plus MK-2 serves as a versatile preamp and compressor, designed to create a perfect bass sound. It incorporates an MLO (Mid-Low Optimization) tone correction system and a flexible EQ section to provide a wide range of sound characters, from extremely dynamic and saturated to highly compressed, including a vintage-type soft tube-overdriven character.

Important Technical Specifications:

Power Supply Input: DC 9-12V. Features polarity auto-detection and a 5.5x2.1mm connector. The DC ASSISTANT protects against signal loss by automatically switching to "bypass mode" if the power supply is disconnected or drops below 6V. Requires a stabilized power supply >100mA.
Controls:
- LEVEL (4): Controls the overall effect volume.
- CHARACTER (5): A blend knob to mix between "Vintage" and "Modern" sound.
- GAIN-COMPRESSOR (6): Adjusts input gain and compression with a single knob.

Usage Features:

The Bass Engine can be integrated into various setups:

As an additional sound module: Connect to the input of an amplifier.

Direct to a mixer: Use as the main sound source without needing a bass amp on stage.

The footswitch mode selector allows users to choose between muting the output signal (ideal for DI-box applications) or switching between the effect being on or bypassed (typical for amplifier connections). The DC ASSISTANT feature provides signal protection, automatically engaging bypass mode if power is lost or drops below 6V, ensuring uninterrupted performance.

Maintenance Features:
