Function Description:
The Maeve™ M carrier is primarily designed for transporting pets, offering a secure and comfortable environment. It can be used on a Tavo Pets base (sold separately) for vehicle travel or on a Tavo Pets stroller (sold separately) for walks and outings. The carrier includes features that enhance pet safety and comfort, such as a canopy, a mattress, magnetic buckles for secure closure, and Side Impact Protection (SIP).

Usage Features:
Mattress:
- Installation: Only one mattress should be used at a time. Place the mattress in the carrier with the seam facing down, ensuring it is flush with the bottom.
- Cleaning: The mattress cover can be removed for cleaning by opening the hook and loop closure and pulling the mattress out.
Canopy:
- Attachment: To attach the canopy, slide the canopy mount into the canopy slot on both sides of the carrier until a "click" sound is heard, indicating it is properly secured. Pull up on the canopy to confirm it is secure.
- Operation: The canopy can be opened or closed by folding either side up or down.
- Ventilation: A peekaboo window with a zipper allows for increased ventilation.
- Removal: To remove the canopy, press the canopy release buttons on both sides of the carrier and pull the canopy off.
Liner:
- Removal: To remove the carrier liner, first remove the canopy, then unzip the liner from the carrier.
- Attachment: Zip the carrier liner or comfort liner onto the carrier.
- Safety Note: Never use the carrier without the liner attached.
Magnetic Buckles:
- Connection: Connect the magnetic buckles to the connectors on both ends of the carrier until a "click" sound is heard. Pull on the buckle to ensure it is connected.
- Unlocking: To unlock, squeeze the buttons on both sides of the buckle and pull it away from the connector.
- Storage: When not in use, the buckle can be flipped up and slid under the side handle to keep it out of the way.
- Safety Note: When a pet is in the carrier, ensure magnetic buckles are locked before lifting the carrier by the top or side handles.
Leash:
- Attachment: Attach one end of the carrier leash to the leash ring in the carrier and the other end to the ring on your pet's collar.
- Safety Note: Do not use the carrier leash when the carrier is used in a vehicle.
Handle:
- Adjustment: To adjust the top handle, press the handle adjustment buttons on both sides and tilt the handle. A "click" sound indicates the handle is locked in position.
- Lifting: Side handles on both ends of the carrier can also be used for lifting.
- Safety Note: The top handle MUST be in the vertical position when the carrier is used in a vehicle.
Pocket:
- Storage: A zippered pocket on the side of the carrier provides lightweight storage.
Side Impact Protection (SIP):
- Attachment: Attach the SIP clasps to the SIP ring on the center of the carrier. Repeat on the other side. The bottom of the SIP should go around the perimeter of the carrier frame, aligning with the top edge of the frame as shown by the dashed line.
- Safety Notes:
- Do not attach the SIP over the mesh side of the canopy.
- The SIP MUST be attached to the side of the carrier next to the vehicle door when in a vehicle.
- SIP is for use in a vehicle only.
Using Carrier on Base (for vehicle travel):
- Installation: Consult the base manual for installation instructions.
- Connection: Lower the carrier onto the base. A "click" sound indicates the carrier is connected. Pull up on the carrier handle to check. Indicators on both sides of the base should be green when properly connected.
- Removal: To remove the carrier from the base, squeeze the carrier release button on the base and lift the carrier off.
- Safety Notes:
- The carrier MUST be attached to the base when used in a vehicle.
- Do not use the carrier leash when the carrier is used in a vehicle.
- The handle MUST be up in the vertical position, magnetic buckles MUST be secured, and SIP MUST be attached when the carrier is used in a vehicle.
- Do not leave the pet unattended in a vehicle.
- Do not leave the carrier in the vehicle when uninstalled, even when unoccupied, as it could become a projectile in a crash.
- Do not continue using the carrier if it has been involved in a moderate or severe vehicle crash.
- Do not allow more than one pet in the carrier when using it in a vehicle.
- Do not attach SIP over the mesh side of the canopy.
Using Carrier on Stroller:
- Installation: Consult the stroller manual for full instructions.
- Leash Recommendation: It is recommended to use the carrier leash when using the carrier on a stroller. After placing the pet in the carrier, attach the carrier leash to the pet's collar.
- Connection: Lower the carrier onto the stroller. A "click" sound indicates the carrier is connected. Pull up on the carrier handle to check.
- Removal: To remove the carrier from the stroller, press the carrier release button on the stroller frame and lift the carrier off.
- Safety Notes:
- Do not leave the pet unattended when using the carrier on a stroller.
- If using the carrier on the stroller with more than one pet, the combined weight of the pets MUST NOT exceed the weight limit of the carrier.
General Warnings:
- Failure to follow warnings and instructions could result in serious injury or death.
- ONLY install this carrier on a Tavo Pets base or stroller.
- NEVER use this carrier with a child.
- DO NOT use the carrier with a pet weighing more than 30 lb/13.6 kg.
- DO NOT use this carrier with mischievous animals; it will not hold an unattended pet left to chew or scratch to get out.
- Tavo Pets are not responsible for any damage caused by your pet.
- The carrier is not intended for airline travel.

Maintenance Features:
Cleaning:
- Frame, Plastic Parts, and Fabric: Clean with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasives or bleach. Do not use silicone lubricants, as they attract dirt and grime.
- Canopy Fabric: Spot clean and air dry.
- Liner: Unzip the liner and wash in cool water with mild detergent. Air dry.
- Pet Products: Wash pet products separately from human laundry. Brush off any fur before washing.
- General Care: To ensure long-lasting use, wipe the carrier off with a soft, absorbent cloth and allow it to fully dry after use in rainy weather or before storing.
