WARNING: When using outdoor use portable luminaries, basic safety precautions should
always be followed to reduce the risk of re, electric shock, and personal injury, including the
following...
A. Use only 3-wire outdoor grounded extension cords UL rated for outdoor use such as SW, SW-A, SOW,
SOW-A, STW, STW-A, STOW, STOW-A, SJW, SJW-A, SJOW, SJOW-A, SJTW, SJTW-A, SJTOW, SJTOW-A,
SJTW, SJTW-A, SJTOW, SJTOW-A.
B. This product should only be plugged into a 3-wire grounded receptacle on a Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupter (GFCI) protected circuit or directly into a GFCI outlet.
C. CAUTION: RISK OF FIRE - Space xture housing and bulb a minimum of 2 inches from
surrounding structures.
D. CAUTION: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK - Do not use with extension cord near water or where
water may pool. Keep portable lamp holder at least 16 feet from pools and spas. Keep plugs and
receptacles dry.
E. Do not exceed 100 feet from Spike Light to the GFCI protected outlet using 12-gauge
3-conductor extension cords. The length of power supply cord is 7.5 inches.
INSTRUCTIONS:
STEP 1 This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable installation code by a person
familiar with the construction and operation of the product and the hazards involved.
STEP 2 (Positioning spike): Holding the spike light by the base of the spike or shroud, gently push the
spike into the ground. The at base of the spike should be at ground level when nished. The spike should
be vertical. In rocky or hard packed dirt, use a small trowel to dig up rocks and loosen the soil where the
xture is to be placed. In very hard soils, rst drive a pilot hole into the ground with a ground stake or
other suitable tool. Insert the spike in the ground and pack the dirt in and around it to secure it. DO NOT
FORCE THE SPIKE INTO THE GROUND AND DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HAMMER SPIKE INTO THE GROUND. Note: Take
caution to aim the light xture left to right at this time. Aiming up and down will be done later.
STEP 3 (Cord): Plug power cord into grounded and GFCI-protected three prong extension cord. Proper
ratings of extension cords are listed above.
STEP 4 (Aiming): Turn o power. Loosen adjustment screw on side. Tilt xture up or down. Tighten
adjustment screw. Restore power. Repeat if necessary.
LAMP REPLACEMENT:
STEP 1 To prevent electrical shock, disconnect from power supply and allow at least 15 minutes before
removing cover.
STEP 2 Remove Screws.
STEP 3 Unscrew Lamp.
STEP 4 Screw in new lamp - Follow markings on cover.
STEP 5 Make sure gasket is seated properly.
STEP 6 Tighten screws.

Remove screws, unscrew the old lamp, screw in the new lamp, ensure gasket is seated, and tighten screws.
