The Wheel Quick Release is a long bolt called a
skewer, with a lever on one end and a nut on the
other, the wheel quick release uses a cam action
to clamp a bicycle wheel in place.
ADJUSTING THE QUICK RELEASE MECHANISM
The wheel hub is clamped in place by the force of
the Quick Release lever cam pushing against one
dropout and pulling the adjusting nut using the
skewer against the other dropout.
Turning the adjusting nut CLOCKWISE will
INCREASE the clamping strength of the lever.
Turning the adjusting nut ANTI-CLOCKWISE will
DECREASE the clamping strength of the lever.
