• Adjust barrel adjusters and/or cable anchor
bolts to compensate for cable stretch.
HUBS
• Check front and rear hub bearings for
excess play or binding. Have adjustable
cup-and-cone bearings, tightened or
loosened if necessary.
• Check hubs are correctly lubricated.
• Tighten hub axle nuts and check quick
release levers.
FRONT AND REAR DERAILLEURS
• Clean derailleur cages bushings.
• Check the accuracy of the indexing and
adjust cable tension at barrel adjusters and/
or cable anchor bolts as required.
CRANK/CHAINRINGS AND FREEWHEELS
• Clean chainrings; check they are true and
have no excessively worn, or broken teeth.
• Check crank arms are tight on bottom
bracket spindle.
• Clean and lubricate freewheel and check for
wear.
• Check freewheel sprockets for worn or
broken teeth.
