Overview

The Laser Tag Battle Guns (Model GT-4074) are an infrared-based toy designed for interactive play. Each blaster functions as both a gun and an infrared receiver, allowing players to engage in simulated combat by aiming and shooting at an opponent's blaster to register hits.

Function Description

The core function of the Laser Tag Battle Guns is to provide a safe and engaging laser tag experience. Players select teams and gun modes, then use the blasters to "shoot" opponents. When a blaster is hit, its life indicator reduces, it vibrates, and emits a sound. The game ends for a player when their life indicator reaches zero, at which point the indicators flash, and they can no longer shoot.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Power Source: Each blaster requires 4 x AA batteries. Correct polarity is crucial for operation.
  • Life Indicators: Each blaster features life indicators, with each bar representing 3 health points, for a total of 8 health points.
  • Low Battery Indication: The 3 life indicators will flash slowly to signal a low battery.
  • Infrared Technology: The blasters utilize infrared signals for communication, requiring clear line-of-sight between blasters for hits to register.
  • Team Options: The blasters support up to 4 teams, represented by Blue, Red, Yellow, or White colors.
  • Gun Modes: Four distinct gun modes are available:
    • Single Shot: Consumes 1 health point per shot.
    • Laser Guns: Consumes 1 health point per shot.
    • Machine Gun: Consumes 1 health point per shot.
    • Plasma Gun: Consumes 1 health point per shot.
  • Activation: Blasters are activated by pressing the gun selection button for 3 seconds. Different teams can activate each other by aligning muzzles.

Usage Features

  • Battery Installation: Requires a screwdriver to remove the battery cover. Batteries must be inserted with the correct polarity.
  • Power On/Off: A power switch is located on the blaster.
  • Team Selection: Players can toggle between 4 teams (Blue, Red, Yellow, White) using the team selection button.
  • Gun Mode Selection: The gun selection button allows players to toggle between four different gun modes: Single Shot, Laser Guns, Machine Gun, and Plasma Gun. Each mode has specific shot characteristics and health point consumption.
  • Reload Function: A dedicated reload button is present on the blaster.
  • Activating Deblocking: To activate, press the gun selection button for 3 seconds while the 4 lights flicker. Only different teams can activate each other, and blasters must be aligned muzzle-to-muzzle.
  • Adding Health Points (Hidden Lives): When a player has 1 health point left, the gun emits a warning sound. Pressing and holding the team selection button for 3 seconds adds a life bar. Up to 3 life bars can be added. A warning is given that pointing at an enemy gun while activating hidden lives will grant the enemy health.
  • Cheating Prevention (Team Changes): Players are discouraged from changing teams mid-battle. If a team change is necessary, another team can aim at your gun and hold the team selection button for 3 seconds, allowing you to select a different team. Alternatively, leaving the gun on standby for 15 minutes will reset it, enabling team selection.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • Blasters not working: Possible causes include low battery, too far distance/wrong angle, or obstacles blocking the infrared signal. Solutions involve replacing batteries, reducing distance/adjusting angle, or removing obstacles.
    • Blasters operating automatically: Possible causes include low battery, overexposure to direct sunlight, or competing infrared transmission from other devices (e.g., TV remotes). Solutions include replacing batteries, blocking sunlight/playing in a shaded area, or moving away from competing infrared devices.
    • Electromagnetic Interference: If normal operation is disturbed, strong electromagnetic interference may be the cause. Resetting the product by turning it off and on, or replacing batteries and moving the product to another location, may resolve the issue.

Maintenance Features

  • Battery Removal: For long-term storage, batteries should be removed from the product.
  • Cleaning: The product should be cleaned with a damp cloth.
