This document is the User's Manual for the TECO Heat Pump Dryer, model TCD80ASHAG.
Function Description
The TECO Heat Pump Dryer is designed for domestic use to dry fabrics that are suitable for machine drying. It utilizes a heat pump system, which is an energy-efficient method for drying clothes. The dryer offers various programs and options to cater to different fabric types and drying needs, including automatic and time-controlled drying. It features a control panel for program selection and monitoring, a water tank for condensed water, and a fluff filter. The appliance is designed to prevent over-drying and includes an anti-crease phase to reduce wrinkles.

Usage Features
The dryer offers a comprehensive set of features for user convenience and optimal drying results:
- Control Panel: The front panel includes a program selection knob, buttons for Time, Child Lock, Dry Level, Anti-crease, Buzzer, Delay Start, and Start/Pause, along with indicator lights for various functions.
- Program Selection: Users can select from a variety of programs such as Sportswear, Shirts, Denim, Underwear, Time, Refresh, Warm Air, Baby Care, Standard, Cotton, Synthetic, Bulky Item, Towel, and Wool. The "Standard" cotton program is highlighted as the most efficient in terms of energy consumption for normal wet cotton laundry.
- Automatic Controlled Drying: The dryer can sense moisture levels and automatically adjust drying time for optimal results, suitable for most programs except Warm Air, Refresh, and Time.
- Time Controlled Drying: Users can manually set the drying time, particularly useful for thick or multi-layered textiles or when specific drying durations are preferred.
- Dry Level Selection: Three dry levels (Heavy, Strong, Normal) are available for specific programs (Daily, Cotton, Synthetic, Bulky Item, Towel) to achieve the desired dryness.
- Anti-Crease Function: A default anti-crease phase runs at the end of each program. A longer anti-crease period (up to 120 minutes) can be selected to further reduce wrinkles.
- Delay Start: The start of a program can be delayed by up to 24 hours in 1-hour increments.
- Buzzer: An audible alert can be activated or deactivated for program completion and other notifications.
- Child Lock: This feature locks all buttons except the "off" position to prevent unintended operation. It can be activated by pressing "Time" and "Dry level" buttons simultaneously for several seconds.
- Indicator Lights: Lights on the control panel indicate the current drying phase (Drying, Cooling, End of program, Anti-crease), filter cleaning reminder, child lock status, buzzer status, delay start status, dry level, and full water tank.
- Water Container: Condensed water is collected in a removable tank, which needs to be emptied after each cycle. The dryer will pause if the tank becomes full during operation.
- Loading Laundry: It is crucial to sort laundry by type and degree of drying required, close fasteners, and remove all objects from pockets. Overloading should be avoided, with specific guidelines for cotton/linen, synthetics, and delicate fabrics/woollens.
- Safety Precautions: The manual emphasizes not drying items soiled with flammable substances, foam rubber, or waterproof textiles. It also warns against installing the appliance near heat sources or in damp areas and stresses the importance of proper ventilation.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is essential for the dryer's efficient operation and longevity:
- Lint Filter Cleaning: The fluff filter must be cleaned after every drying process. It is a two-level filter (sponge and cloth) located behind the door. The filter can be washed with warm water to remove accumulated layers and must be completely dry before reinstallation.
- Water Container Emptying: The water container should be emptied after each drying cycle.
- Humidity Sensor Cleaning: The humidity sensor, located in the filter compartment, needs to be gently cleaned with a dry cloth periodically to ensure accurate moisture sensing.
- Evaporator Cleaning: The lint accumulated on the evaporator fins, located behind the filter drawer, should be cleaned at least twice a month using a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush. Protective gloves are recommended due to sharp fins.
- Door Cleaning: The interior part of the door should be periodically cleaned to remove any fluff.
- Exterior Cleaning: The dryer's exterior should be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. Abrasive substances, benzene, thinner, alcohol, or acetone should not be used.
- Drainage Option: The condensed water can be drained directly using a drainpipe instead of collecting it in the water tank. Instructions are provided for changing the drainpipe.
- Pre-use Preparation: Before first use, the polystyrene block and any packaging material must be removed from the drum. It is recommended to run the dryer with a few damp cloths for 30 minutes to clear any dust.
- Leveling: The dryer must be placed on a firm, level surface. Adjustable feet allow for leveling to minimize vibration and noise.
