Overview

The Tecsun ICR-100 is a versatile radio recorder and digital audio player designed for portability and ease of use. It functions as an FM radio, an MP3 player, and a recording device, capable of capturing FM broadcasts, external audio via its line-in jack, and voice recordings through its built-in microphone.

Function Description:

FM Radio:

The device operates in FM mode, offering a frequency range of 76-108 MHz, with specific ranges for Japan (76-108 MHz) and other countries outside Japan and Russia (87-108 MHz). Users can auto-tune by pressing and holding the "Previous" or "Next" buttons, which will search for the next available station. The Automatic Tuning System (ATS) allows for a comprehensive scan and storage of all available stations into memory by pressing and holding the "Play/Pause" button. Once stored, users can navigate through these stations using the "Previous" or "Next" buttons. It is recommended to perform the ATS function again when in a new geographical location or after removing the battery. The FM noise sensitivity is better than 3µV, ensuring clear reception.

MP3 Player:

To use the MP3 player, a micro SD card must be inserted. The device supports MP3, WMA, and WAV audio formats. Users can switch to MP3 mode using the "OFF/MP3/FM" button. Music files are accessed via the "Music Folder" button, while recorded files are found in the "Voice Folder." Navigation through files is done with the "Previous" or "Next" buttons. Playback can be paused and resumed using the "Play/Pause" button. In MUSIC mode, pressing and holding the "Previous" or "Next" buttons allows for jumping 10 music files backward or forward. In VOICE mode, the same action enables fast playback of recording files.

Recording:

The ICR-100 offers multiple recording capabilities. By pushing the "OFF/MP3/FM" button to either "MP3" or "FM" mode, and then pressing the "Record" button, recording can commence. In FM mode, it records FM broadcasts. In MP3 mode, it captures external voice via its built-in microphone. When connected via the line-in jack, it records audio from the connected player. To pause a recording, the "Play/Pause" button is used. During radio recording, users can change the recording station by pressing the "Previous" or "Next" buttons, and the device will continue recording. All recorded files are stored in the "VOICE" folder on the micro SD card. To stop recording in radio mode, the "AB" or "Play/Pause" button is used. In MP3 or Line-in mode, the "AB," "Play/Pause," "Previous," or "Next" buttons can stop the recording. After recording, the device will automatically play the last recorded file.

AB Repeat Function:

This feature is available in MUSIC mode. To activate, press the "AB" button once to set the starting point A, then press it again to set the ending point B. The device will continuously repeat the selected A to B section. To deactivate AB repeat, press either the "AB" or "Previous" / "Next" buttons. Playback can be paused and resumed using the "Play/Pause" button.

Deleting Files:

In MUSIC mode, users can select a desired file using the "Previous" or "Next" buttons. To delete, press and hold the "AB" button until "DEL" flashes on the display, then press "AB" again to confirm deletion.

Computer Connectivity:

The device can connect to a computer via a USB cable. When connected and set to "MP3" or "FM" mode, "PC" will appear on the display, indicating it functions as a computer speaker. Users can play music from their computer through the device or use the "Previous" / "Next" buttons on the device to select computer music. If a micro SD card is inserted, the computer can directly input or delete files on the card. To exit the audio speaker function, press and hold the "Play/Pause" button; the device will then act as a battery charger.

Charging the Lithium Battery:

The device's lithium battery can be charged using an adaptor (not included) with a USB port. Alternatively, when the device is turned off, it can be connected to a PC via a USB cable for charging.
