Question and Answer IconNeed help?

Do you have a question about the Teka CP 15 GS and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The provided manual describes the Teka CP 15 GS crockery warmer, a built-in appliance designed to heat crockery using a warm air circulation system.

Function Description

The crockery warmer operates by circulating hot air generated by an electrical heating element and distributed by a fan throughout its interior. This system ensures quick and even heating of crockery. A metal grille protects both the heating element and the fan. The appliance features a thermostat that allows the user to define and control the desired temperature for the crockery. The base of the drawer is fitted with a non-slip mat to prevent plates and dishes from sliding when the drawer is opened and closed.

Important Technical Specifications

While specific power consumption figures are not detailed, the manual indicates that the appliance is equipped with a power cable and plug for single-phase current. It requires a power supply compatible with the voltage and frequency indicated on its characteristics plate. For permanent installation, it must be connected to a circuit with an all-pole circuit breaker having a minimum separation of 3mm between contacts, ensuring disconnection in case of emergency or cleaning. The appliance must be correctly earthed for electrical safety. The maximum load capacity of the drawer is 25 kg. The temperature range selectable via the thermostat is between 30 and 70 °C. The temperature scale uses symbols corresponding to optimal temperatures for different crockery types: approximately 40 °C for cups and glasses, and approximately 60 °C for plates and serving dishes.

The installation dimensions are provided in a diagram, showing a minimum niche width of 560-568 mm, a minimum depth of 550 mm, and a height of 139 mm for the appliance itself, with an additional 5 mm clearance at the top. When combined with another appliance, a fixed interim shelf is required to support the weight of both units.

Usage Features

Before First Use: Before using the appliance for the first time, it is recommended to clean both the interior and exterior according to the cleaning instructions. The crockery warmer should then be heated for at least 2 hours with the temperature control set to maximum. During this initial heating, an odor may be released due to a special protective product on the appliance's parts; this is normal and will disappear. Ensure the kitchen is well-ventilated during this process.

Control Panel: The control panel, visible only when the drawer is open, includes a temperature selector (thermostat) and an on/off switch (which lights up when active). A viewing port on the front of the appliance allows users to check if it is switched on when the drawer is closed.

Operating the Crockery Warmer:

  1. Place the crockery in the drawer.
  2. Select the desired temperature by turning the thermostat control.
  3. Switch on the appliance by pressing the switch.
  4. Close the drawer carefully, avoiding excessive force to prevent it from reopening. To remove warm crockery, first switch off the appliance by pressing the switch again.

Temperature Selection: The thermostat allows temperature selection between 30 and 70 °C. Forcing the control beyond the "0" position or the maximum position can damage the appliance. Once the selected temperature is reached, the heating turns off and reactivates if the temperature drops below the set value. The temperature settings are indicated by symbols:

  • A symbol representing approximately 40 °C, ideal for cups and glasses, keeping contents warm without making the crockery too hot to handle.
  • A symbol representing approximately 60 °C, suitable for plates and serving dishes, keeping food warm longer while still allowing comfortable handling.

Heating Times: Heating times vary based on several factors:

  • Material and thickness of the crockery.
  • Quantity of crockery.
  • Arrangement of crockery.
  • Selected temperature setting. As a guide, for uniform heating:
  • Crockery for 6 people: 30-35 minutes
  • Crockery for 8 people: 35-40 minutes
  • Crockery for 12 people: 40-45 minutes Users will learn optimal settings through experience.

Load Capacity (CP 15 GS model): The crockery warmer can accommodate:

  • 6 persons servings: 6 x 24cm Dinner Plates, 6 x 10cm Soup Bowls, 1 x 19cm Serving Dish, 1 x 17cm Serving Dish, 1 x 32cm Meat Plates.
  • Alternatively, 20 dishes with Ø 28 cm.
  • Alternatively, 80 espresso coffee cups.
  • Alternatively, 40 tea cups.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning:

  • Always disconnect the appliance from the electrical power supply before cleaning.
  • Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaners, sponges, or pointed objects to avoid scratches or damage.
  • Do not use high-pressure or steam jet cleaning devices, as steam can damage electrical components.
  • Appliance front and control panel: Clean with a damp cloth and, if very dirty, a few drops of washing-up liquid. Wipe dry. For stainless steel fronts, use special products to prevent future dirt. For aluminum fronts, use a gentle glass cleaning product and a soft, lint-free cloth, wiping horizontally without pressing.
  • Interior: Clean regularly with a damp cloth and, if very dirty, a few drops of washing-up liquid. Wipe dry. Prevent water from entering the air circulation opening. Ensure the interior is completely dry before reuse.
  • Non-slip mat: The mat can be removed for cleaning. Wash by hand with hot water and washing-up liquid. Dry thoroughly before replacing.

Repairs:

  • Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before any maintenance.
  • Repairs and maintenance, especially of electrical parts, must only be performed by technicians authorized by the manufacturer. Unauthorized repairs are dangerous and void the warranty.
  • If the appliance doesn't heat sufficiently, check if it's switched on, if the correct temperature is selected, if air circulation orifices are covered, and if it was given sufficient heating time.
  • If the crockery doesn't heat at all, check for fan noise (indicating a broken heating element if heard, or a broken fan if not heard) and tripped circuit breakers.
  • If the crockery heats too much, the temperature selector might be broken, or the on/off switch's pilot light might have blown.
  • Never open the appliance's frame, as contact with electrical parts or changes to components can be dangerous and impair functionality.
