Overview

This document is a user manual for a TEKA Electric Mini Oven, covering its functions, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Function Description

The TEKA Electric Mini Oven is designed for cooking and heating meals. It offers various cooking functions, including:

  • Upper and Lower Heating: Activates both top and bottom heating elements for simultaneous cooking, suitable for cakes, patties, stews, and other dishes in molds or containers. A single tray is recommended for cooking.
  • Lower Heating: Activates only the bottom heating element, ideal for baking pizzas or browning the lower section of food.
  • Turbo Fan backed up with Grill: Operates the grill heater and fan motor simultaneously, suitable for roasting meatballs, chicken, and pastry.
  • Grill: Used for grilling meats such as steaks, sausages, and fish. It is recommended to place a tray on the lower rack with water inside to collect drippings.
  • High Heating: Activates only the upper heating element. With the turbo fan feature, heat is dispersed homogeneously throughout the oven, suitable for cakes, patties, stews, or other dishes in molds or containers. A single tray is recommended.
  • Turbo Fan Supported Lower Heating: Operates the lower heating element and turbo fan motor simultaneously, dispersing hot air homogeneously. This function is ideal for cooking the bottom parts of crispy pita or spicy pancakes.
  • Turbo Fan Supported Upper and Lower Heating: Activates the turbo fan, upper, and lower heating elements simultaneously. The turbo fan ensures homogeneous heat dispersion, suitable for cakes, patties, stews, or other dishes in molds or containers. A single tray is recommended.
  • Yoghurt Curing Function: Allows for the fermentation of yogurt. The process involves setting the thermostat to a lower resistance mode, pre-heating for 10 minutes, and then placing the raw milk (heated to 90°C and cooled to 43-45°C with yeast added) in the oven. After 5 hours, the fermented yogurt is removed and kept in a refrigerator for 1 day before consumption.
  • Steam Cleaning (Hydroclean) Function: Softens dirt inside the oven using steam, without chemicals. This involves placing two glasses of water in the square tray on the bottom shelf, setting the thermostat to steam cleaning mode, and the timer to 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the oven door is opened, and the interior surface is wiped with a damp cloth.
  • Thawing Function: Used to defrost food. Food should be removed from its container and placed on the grill, with the rectangular tray underneath to collect dripping water. Thawed water should not be reused. The manual recommends using functions during defrosting and checking the food periodically as thawing times vary by weight. Pre-heating the oven for 8-10 minutes before cooking is also recommended.

The oven features control buttons, an inner boiler, an oven body, a hotplate (optional), a handle, an oven glass door, oven pedestals, a control panel, a circular tray (optional), a rectangular tray, a wire grill, and a chicken roast set (optional).

The oven's timer allows for setting cooking times, after which it cuts off power and provides an audible warning. Setting the timer, program, and thermostat to "0" turns off the appliance. The thermostat maintains the set temperature, with an indicator light showing when it's active. The programmer allows selection of oven functions, which operate only when the thermostat is set to a desired temperature. Hotplate and oven functions do not operate simultaneously. The chicken roast function rotates a skewer for roasting, potentially with the grill heater. Hotplates can be controlled by single or individual buttons but also do not operate simultaneously with oven functions.

Usage Features

  • Pre-heating: It is recommended to pre-heat the oven for 8 to 10 minutes before cooking. The time until the temperature light turns off for the first time can be considered the pre-heating time.
  • Cooking Chart: The manual provides a cooking chart with recommended thermostat settings and cooking times for various foods (e.g., cookie, cake, pie, muffin, pasta, fish, lamb, mutton, veal, turkey, poultry, defrost). These values are based on laboratory tests and may vary depending on mains voltage, ingredient quality, and quantity.
  • Safety: The appliance is manufactured according to safety regulations. Users are warned against placing flammable materials in the oven, pouring cold water into a hot oven, or touching hot surfaces during or shortly after operation. Children should be supervised, and the appliance is not intended for use by individuals with physical, sensory, or mental disabilities without supervision. Long-term intense use may require extra ventilation. The appliance is suitable for home use only and should not be used for commercial purposes or room heating.
  • Electrical Connection: Requires a 16 Ampere current and a 230 V, 50Hz power supply. Installation should be performed by qualified persons using earthed outlets. The power cord must not come into contact with hot components and should be replaced by authorized personnel if damaged.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: The appliance should be unplugged and cooled down before cleaning. Interior parts, door, trays, and other components should not be cleaned with abrasive or scratching detergents, bristle brushes, steel wool, or knives. The Hydroclean function is available for steam cleaning.
  • Oven Lamp Replacement: To avoid electric shock, the appliance must be unplugged and cooled before replacing the lamp. The glass protector is removed by rotating it, the old lamp is rotated out, and a new lamp of the same specifications is installed. Plastic gloves may assist with rotation. The glass protector is then replaced, and the appliance is plugged back in. The manual specifies Type G9 Bulb (220-240 V, AC, 15-25 W) and Type E14 Bulb (220-240 V, AC, 15-25 W) as possible lamp types, depending on the model.
  • Troubleshooting: If the oven does not operate, users should check if the power cord is securely plugged in, the electrical installation, the fuse, and for any damage to the power cord. If issues persist, authorized dealership contact is recommended.
  • Environmental Compliance: The product is manufactured in environment-friendly facilities and complies with AEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) regulations. It contains recyclable and reusable high-quality parts. Users are advised not to dispose of the product with domestic waste but to take it to a collection point for electrical and electronic equipment. Packaging materials are also recyclable and should be disposed of in designated collection areas. Before disposal, the power cord should be cut to render the product non-functional for safety.
