Millennium Display Functions:
The phone's 3-line backlit LCD provides valuable information to guests about available services and amenities.
-
Welcome Message: Up to three different welcome messages, each up to 45 characters long, can be displayed when the phone is idle. These messages can be shown in various formats:
- Billboard Scroll (Non-interlaced): Characters shift left one at a time across the display until the entire message is shown.
- Complete 15 Character Block Replacement (Interlaced): The first 15 characters are displayed, then replaced by the next 15, and so on, until the entire message is shown.
- Time Interval Replacement: Messages can be switched automatically every 6, 12, or 24 hours, providing fresh content to guests.
-
Express Service Select: This function acts as an electronic phone book, storing up to 100 phone numbers/extensions with 15-character descriptions. Guests can press the MENU key to browse services and SELECT to dial a chosen service via speakerphone. This information is stored in nonvolatile memory, ensuring it's not lost during power interruptions.
-
LCD Backlighting: The LCD backlight illuminates when the phone is in use, during an incoming call, or when the MENU key is pressed. It can be programmed to turn off after a specified period (10-80 seconds in 10-second increments), stay on continuously, or remain off. The factory default is 30 seconds.
Usage Features
Volume Adjustment:
- Handset Volume: Has eight levels. It defaults to Level One when the handset is lifted. Use the “-” and “+” VOLUME keys to adjust. Returning the handset to the cradle for more than two seconds resets the volume to Level One; less than two seconds retains the last used level.
- Speakerphone Volume: Has eight levels. It defaults to Level Four when activated. Use the “-” and “+” VOLUME keys to adjust. Disconnecting a call for more than two seconds resets the volume to Level Four; less than two seconds retains the last used level.
- Ring Volume: A RINGER LOW/HI switch on the back of the phone allows adjustment of the ring volume for each line.
Mute Function:
Press the MUTE key to silence your voice to the other party; the red LED below the MUTE key will light. Press it again to deactivate mute. During a conference call, muting silences your voice to all parties.
Hold Function:
Press the HOLD key during an active call to place it on local hold. The red line LED will slowly blink.
- To Remove Hold: Press the line key of the held call. The call will reactivate on either speakerphone or handset, and the red line LED will become steady.
