PREVENTIVEMAINTENANCE:
TEMP‐COOLair‐conditioningunitsprovidehigh
performanceandreliabilitywithaminimum
amountofmaintenance.Toprolongthelifeof
theunitandinsureahighlevelofperformance,
performregularmaintenanceasdescribed
below.
Therefrigerationandelectricalcircuitsof
thesystemshouldbeservicedbyqualified
techniciansonly.
Alwaysdisconnecttheunit
fromitspowersupplywhenperformingany
formofservicerequiringtheremovalof
grillesorpanels
Filters:
Dirtyfilterscanrestrictairflowcausingtheunit
tooperatewithareducedefficiency.Inspect
thefilterseverysixweeksormorefrequently,
whenoperatinginadirtyenvironment.Replace
thefilterswhendirtywithanequivalentfilter.
Donotattempttocleanthefiltersoroperate
theunitwithoutfilters.
Supply/Returnairfilterscanbeaccessthrough
thepanelwiththereturnairconnectiononit.
Openthepanelandslidethefiltersout.
Replacebothfilterswithtwo25”x25”x2”
mediumefficiencypleatedmediafilter.Make
surethefiltersareinsertedwiththeairflow
indicatorsin
theproperdirection.
Condensercoilfiltersshouldbeusedif
operatingtheunitinadirtyarea.Anexternal
filterrackisavailableasanaccessoryand
suitablefiltermediashouldbeselectedbased
ontheapplicationandlocationoftheair
conditioner.
CoilCleaning:
Ifthecoilsbecomedirty theycanbecleaned
usingavacuumfollowedbycompressedair.
Vacuumthefaceofthecoilwheretheairenters
thecoil.Mostofthedirtwillbeonthisside.Use
compressedairtoblowanyremainingdirtout.
Workfrombacktoprevent
drivingthedirt
furtherintothecoil.Keepingcleanairfiltersin
placewillgreatlyreducethefrequencythat
coilsmustbecleaned.
BlowersandBlowerMotors:
Theblowerandblowermotorssuppliedwith
theseunitshavesealedbearingwhichare
lubricatedatthefactoryandrequirenofurther
service.
TheV‐beltdrivesusedontheblowerrequire
additionalattention,howevertoinsurethatthe
beltsanddrivesareingoodcondition,properly
aligned,andtensioned.Start
bycheckingthe
drivesforproperalignmentandtensionby
measuringthedeflectionatthecenterspanof
thebeltunderagivenpressure.Thecondenser
fanbeltshouldhavea1/2inchdeflectionwith5
poundsofforceandtheevaporatorfanbelt
