This document provides an installation guide for a Wireless Video Security Kit, focusing on the NVR (Network Video Recorder) and camera components.
Function Description:
The Wireless Video Security Kit is designed for surveillance, offering real-time video preview, recording playback, and management of monitoring devices. The NVR acts as the central hub, connecting to multiple cameras wirelessly and managing video data, potentially storing it on an internal HDD. The cameras capture video and transmit it to the NVR. The system supports both local management via a connected monitor and mouse, and remote management through a mobile application (TDSEE App) or a web UI.

Usage Features:
HDD Installation:
- If an HDD is not included, it must be prepared separately.
- Steps:
- Unfasten screws on the NVR bottom, remove the cover, and reserve screws.
- Take 2 screws from the NVR installation package, screw them into the two holes closest to the SATA connector, leaving about 2 mm space.
- Align the HDD's SATA connector with the NVR motherboard's SATA slot and insert until fixed.
- Use remaining screws from the NVR installation package to fix the HDD.
- Mount the cover with the previously removed screws.
- Tip: Always cut off NVR power when installing or replacing the HDD to prevent damage or detection issues.
Device Connection:
- Place all cameras near the NVR.
- Power on cameras using their 12 V 1 A adapters.
- Power on the NVR using its 12 V 2 A adapter.
- Cameras and NVR automatically connect within 2 minutes; camera LEDs turn solid blue upon successful connection and recording initiation.
- Connect NVR to a monitor (HDMI or VGA) and a mouse for local management.
- Connect NVR to a router/switch via Ethernet cable for network access.
Camera Installation:
- Install cameras in desired monitoring locations within the NVR's wireless coverage.
- Maintain a distance of more than 1 meter between the NVR/camera and wireless routers, induction cookers, microwaves, and refrigerators.
- NVR and camera antennas should be placed vertically.
- Supports ceiling and wall mounting.
- Installation Steps:
- Place the installation template at the desired location.
- Drill screw holes (6 mm diameter, 28-32 mm depth) and insert anchors.
- Fix the camera using screws.
- Tip: Ensure the ceiling is strong enough to support three times the camera's weight. Prepare tools like a hammer drill, drill bit, rubber hammer, screwdriver, and ladder.
Adjusting Monitoring Angle:
- Loosen the orientation knob, adjust the camera's orientation (0-90° tilt, 0-360° pan), then tighten the knob.
Waterproof Kit Installation:
- Install the waterproof kit and wrap the Ethernet port end with waterproof tape if needed.
- Steps (for Ethernet cable connection):
- Disassemble the waterproof kit components.
- Thread the Ethernet cable through the components in the specified order.
- Connect the Ethernet cable to the camera's Ethernet port.
- Assemble the waterproof kit components around the Ethernet connection.
- Tip: The included waterproof kit is not suitable for Ethernet cables with a protective cover on the crystal head.
Basic Configuration (Local Management):
- Startup: Connect the NVR to power.
- Shutdown: Click the shutdown icon in the upper right corner of the GUI, confirm, and unplug the power adapter when prompted.
- Quick Setup:
- Select GUI language and time zone, then click OK.
- Set a password and email address, then click Activate.
- Optionally, draw an unlock pattern for the management page.
- Ensure connection status is "Connected," then click Next.
- Ensure cloud status is "Online," then click OK.
App Management (TDSEE App):
- Download the TDSEE App (Google Play/App Store).
- Ensure NVR is powered on and working.
- Register in the app, then tap "Add a device" on the home page.
- Scan the QR code on the NVR label or on the Cloud Service page in the NVR's web UI.
- Feature: Remote video preview, recording playback, and alarm message checking.
- Tip: Register with a reserved email address during NVR activation to enable password reset via the app.
Web Management:
- Connect the computer to the NVR's network (switch/router).
- Activation: If NVR is not activated, activate it via the web UI by setting a password and email, then log in.
- Login: Access the NVR's default IP address (192.168.1.254) in a browser.
- Tip: NVR supports HTTPS login; ignore browser warnings about insecure connections.
- Note: If DHCP is enabled, the NVR's IP address might change; refer to the actual IP assigned by the DHCP server.
Maintenance Features (FAQ):
- NVR fails to add camera automatically:
- Check NVR LED (power supply).
- Check camera LED (should blink blue quickly); if not, reset the camera.
- Add camera manually via NVR management page.
- Video preview not smooth or camera often offline:
- Ensure NVR/camera distance from wireless router/interference sources is >1 meter.
- Adjust NVR/camera location to shorten distance or reduce obstacles (walls, glass doors).
- Adding a new camera during stable operation:
- Ensure new camera is at default settings; if not, reset it.
- Place new camera near NVR and power it on.
- NVR automatically detects the camera; add after verifying S/N.
- Unplug power and install the camera at the desired location.
- No playback videos on NVR:
- Check HDD:
- If not detected: shut down NVR, reinstall HDD, restart NVR.
- If abnormal: shut down NVR, reinstall HDD, restart NVR; if persistent, format HDD.
- If formatting fails: shut down NVR, replace HDD, restart NVR.
- Check recording plan:
- Ensure channel recording schedule is enabled.
- Ensure recording time and type are set correctly; adjust and save if needed.
