This document is a user manual for the Tepro Keansburg 6 Gas Grill, model number 3316UK, version 2021. It provides comprehensive instructions for assembly, operation, maintenance, and safety.
Function Description
The Tepro Keansburg 6 Gas Grill is designed for heating, cooking, and grilling food outdoors in a domestic setting. It operates on low-pressure butane/propane gas and requires a suitable low-pressure regulator and flexible hose. The grill features multiple burners, including standard stainless steel burners, Powerzone burners for high-temperature searing, and infrared burners (one vertical and one side burner). The design allows for both open-lid grilling and gentle cooking with the lid closed, similar to an oven. The grill is equipped with an ignition system for easy start-up and temperature regulators for precise control over each burner. A key safety feature is the requirement to check for gas leaks using soapy water before each use.

Usage Features
- Outdoor Use Only: The grill is strictly for outdoor use to prevent the risk of poisoning from gas in enclosed spaces.
- Assembly: Requires two people and a working space of two to three square meters. Tools required include a Phillips screwdriver and a wrench (F). The manual provides detailed step-by-step instructions with diagrams for assembly, including attaching side panels, shelves, casters, the main grill body, and burners. All screws must be tightly fastened.
- Gas Bottle Connection: The gas bottle (5 kg propane/butane recommended) must be placed in the bottle holder in the base plate. It's crucial to ensure no dirt is in the gas bottle heads, regulator, or burner, and to clean blocked burner openings with a pipe cleaner. The gas hose and regulator have a left-hand thread and should be tightened firmly by hand, then with a 17-mm jaw spanner. No additional seal should be used.
- Ignition System: To ignite, open the lid, set all temperature regulators to OFF, connect the regulator to the gas bottle, turn on the gas intake, then press and hold a temperature control until the burner ignites (approx. 10 seconds). If ignition fails within 5 seconds, turn the knob to OFF, wait 5 minutes, and repeat. Manual ignition with a long chimney match from below is an alternative.
- Temperature Control: Once ignited, burners can be regulated between LOW (small flame) and HIGH (big flame).
- Powerzone: An additional grill zone for extra high temperature, ideal for searing steaks.
- Closed-Lid Cooking: Enables gentle cooking of larger items, similar to an oven. It is recommended to use a small or medium flame and avoid unnecessary lid opening to retain heat.
- Pre-firing: Before first use, heat the BBQ for at least 15 minutes with a closed lid and high flame without food to clean internal parts and burn off residues.
- Pre-heating: Recommended to preheat the grill for 10-15 minutes before each use.
- Shut-off Procedure: Turn the regulator on the gas bottle to "Off," then turn the temperature regulator on the BBQ to (off). Wait for the grill to cool before closing the lid.
- Safety: Emphasizes keeping children and pets away, wearing oven/BBQ gloves, using long-handled utensils, and avoiding wide-sleeved clothing. Never move the device during use.
Maintenance Features
- Regular Cleaning: The grill should be cleaned after each use.
- Cooling Down: Always allow the grill to cool down completely before cleaning or storage.
- Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Do not use decolorants, thinners, strong or grinding solvents, abrasive pads, or commercially available oven cleaners, as these can damage surfaces and be harmful to health or food contact.
- Grill Grates: Clean thoroughly in soapy water, rinse with clean water, and dry. For acidic foods, a stainless steel grill tray is recommended instead of direct contact with the grates.
- Grease Layers: If grease builds up on the internal lid surface, clean with a strong, hot soapy solution, rinse, and dry.
- Food Residues: Remove from the base of the BBQ with a brush, spatula, or sponge, then wash with soapy water, rinse, and dry.
- External/Internal Surfaces: Clean with warm soapy water and a soft, clean cloth.
- Burner Cleaning: Turn off gas, remove grates, clean with a soft brush or pressurized air, and wipe with a cloth. Clear blocked openings with a pipe cleaner, wire, or paperclip.
- Ignition Head Cleaning: If ignition is difficult, clean the ignition tip (located next to the burner) with a steel/brass brush to remove food residues. The ignition tip should be 4-5 mm from the burner edge for reliable ignition.
- Screw Stability: Check and tighten all screws before every use to ensure the BBQ's stability.
- Gas Hose Inspection: Check the gas hose for damage or porosity before each use. Replace immediately if damaged.
- Storage: Store the gas BBQ indoors only after the gas bottle has been removed. If not used for an extended period, cover with a protective hood and store in a dry, dust-free environment. Ensure the BBQ is cool, clean, and dry before covering to prevent corrosion.
- Gas Bottle Storage: Store gas bottles upright, outdoors, out of reach of children, away from flames or flammable sources, and where temperatures do not exceed 50°C. Never store gas bottles in underground spaces, stairwells, passageways, or thoroughfares of buildings.
