PREPARING COFFEE
Unplug the unit from the mains supply.•
Fill the water tank with fresh cold water to the level •
corresponding to the number of cups required.
You can use the jug which has a scale on the side for lling
if you wish.
Open the lid. •
Remove the lter and spoon in the required amount of •
coee grains - typically 6-7g. per cup, or to taste.
NOTE: One spoon is about 4g of coee.
Do not ll above the level of the gauze in the lter.
Place the lter holder in the unit and insert the lter into •
the lter holder.
Place the jug on the hot plate. •
Ensure that the hole in the lid of the jug engages with the
spring valve in the machine (arrowed) or the coee may not
ow properly.
When all the coee has run into the jug
Wait for one minute after all the coee has nished •
running into the jug.
Remove the jug and pour out the coee.•
After use switch the machine o and unplug from the •
mains supply.
NOTE: At any time during the brewing cycle you can temporarily
remove the jug to serve a cup of hot coee. The brewing
cycle will not be interrupted and no coee will drip from the
appliance. To restart the brewing cycle the jug must be replaced
in the machine within 30 sec.
WARNING: NEVER replace an empty jug on the hot plate while
it is hot or it may crack.
NOTE: When the brewing cycle is over the machine will
switch to a “keep warm state”. The hot plate will stay on for
40 minutes to keep the coee warm, after which time the
unit will switch o automatically.
Ideally coee should always be served as soon as possible after
brewing.
Points to remember when operating your Coee maker
Disposable lters if used should be specially made for •
coee makers - Tesco stores stock a range of suitable
lters. Use size 4 (10-12 cups).
Make sure you use coee specially ground for lter use.•
NEVER use the coee maker hotplate to warm drinks such •
as baby milk, etc.
