Using the Testboy
®
130 is it possible to detect both static and
changing magnetic fields. The Testboy
®
130 is therefore ideally
suited for testing items such as solenoids or relays.

Non-contact magnetic field detection
The item being tested does not need to be
dismantled or removed prior to testing. As
a first step, the batteries should be functi-
on tested as described below. Put the tip
of the magnetic field tester next to the ob-
ject to be tested (Fig. 1a). If the tip lights
up, the object is magnetically activated. It
is not required to stop machines and devi-
ces in order to test components.
Functional check
Take the test magnet from the Testboy
®
130's clip and hold it
close to the tip (1a) of the device, which should light up. If it
does not light up, the batteries should be changed.
