What to do if my Thermaco Plumbing Product Big Dipper unit overflows?
    • M
      Michelle DixonAug 8, 2025
If your Big Dipper Plumbing Product unit is overflowing, first, ensure the outlet pipe isn't smaller than specified and is properly vented, with minimal sharp turns and no 'P' trap. Re-plumb if needed. Also, check for and clear any clogs in the outlet piping, potentially with a plumber's help. Inspect the unit for congealed grease and clean out any sediment. Lastly, if grease accumulation is low, adjust the control to the minimum setting (Setting 1) for light skimming operation.

If you notice an unpleasant odor from your Thermaco Plumbing Product unit, try cleaning the solids strainer and grease collection container more often. Ensure that grease and oil are being skimmed correctly. Check the Digital Control to prevent excessive run time, which can occur after all grease is removed. If necessary, lower the skim setting until no water is visible in the grease collection container.

If your Thermaco Plumbing Product isn't collecting grease, first, verify that the power is on and the correct setting is selected, indicated by an illuminated setting button. Then, lift the sump cover and clear any buildup from the wiper blades or collection trough. Ensure the wiper blades are correctly positioned on the skimmer wheels, and replace them if they appear worn or warped.

What to do if my Thermaco Kitchen Appliances Big Dipper unit overflows?
    • T
      tlaneAug 20, 2025
If your Big Dipper unit is overflowing, several factors could be responsible. First, ensure that the outlet pipe maintains its size without reduction, is properly vented, minimizes 90-degree turns, and lacks a 'P' trap. Re-plumb if needed and inspect for clogs, consulting a plumber if necessary. Also, verify the solids strainer is correctly placed and emptied daily. Check for sediment buildup at the grease chamber's bottom, potentially obstructing the outlet baffle; stir with a long-handled spatula during water flow or drain and clean the unit. If the unit does not generate enough grease to be captured by the skimming process, set the timer for a minimum operation of 1 Tab (15 Min.).

How to get rid of objectionable odor from Thermaco Kitchen Appliances?
    • J
      Joanna LoweAug 26, 2025
If you notice an objectionable odor coming from your Thermaco Kitchen Appliances unit, there are several things you can check. First, ensure that grease/oil is being skimmed properly. Then, check the timer settings to make sure the 'on' time isn't excessive, and also check for any water accumulation in the grease collector. Make sure the flow rate to the unit does not exceed the maximum flow rate indicated on the nameplate. Finally, if there's excessive sediment at the bottom of the unit, clean it as described in the instructions for 'Big Dipper unit overflows'.

Why is there excessive water in the grease collection container of my Thermaco Kitchen Appliances?
    • C
      Calvin RodriguezAug 28, 2025
Excessive water in the grease collection container could be due to a couple of reasons. Check the timer to ensure it's not set for excessive 'on' time, as the unit will pick up incidental water after all grease is removed. Also, verify that the water flow to the unit does not exceed the rated flow, and there are no drain line clogs downstream.

      Alvin RobbinsSep 2, 2025
If your Thermaco Kitchen Appliances unit isn't collecting grease, start by confirming that the power is on and the time control is set correctly, ensuring the 'on' time is at least 15 minutes daily. Next, remove the lid and clear any buildup from the wiper blades or collection trough. Ensure the wiper blades are correctly positioned on the skimmer wheels, and replace them if they appear worn or warped.
