Overview

The Thermomate Built-In Electric Oven (models ESMS605, ESMW605, and ESDS609) is an appliance designed for various cooking functions, offering features for efficient and safe operation.

Function Description

The oven is designed for baking, roasting, grilling, and convection cooking. It includes a timer and temperature control knob for precise cooking. Specific functions available across the models include:

  • Light: Illuminates the oven interior, useful for monitoring cooking progress without opening the door.
  • Roast: Utilizes top and bottom heating elements for traditional roasting. The ESMW605 and ESDS609 models offer a Barbecue function, which involves top central heating elements and a fan for rotisserie cooking, ensuring even browning.
  • Bake: Employs bottom heating elements for baking. The ESMW605 and ESDS609 models also feature a Conv Bake function, which uses bottom heating elements and a fan for dishes requiring uniform heat distribution, such as pizzas and large roasts.
  • Broil: Uses top heating elements for grilling. The ESMW605 and ESDS609 models have a Conv Grill function, which combines the top central heating elements with a fan for enhanced heat distribution and browning.
  • Convection: Utilizes a rear heating element and a fan for even heat distribution, ideal for multi-rack cooking.
  • Multi Stage: Available on ESMW605 and ESDS609, this function uses top, rear, and bottom heating elements with a fan for comprehensive cooking.
  • Defrost: Circulates ambient air around the food to thaw frozen items. The ESMW605 and ESDS609 models include a Conv Broil function (top heating elements and fan) and a Conv Grill function (grill heating element and fan) for specific cooking needs.

The oven features a control panel with knobs for selecting functions and setting the temperature and timer. The ESDS609 model includes a digital display with symbols for clock, heating, preheating, and timer functions, allowing for precise control over cooking duration and temperature.

  • Door Design: The oven door is designed to be easily removable for thorough cleaning. The internal glass panel can also be disassembled for cleaning.
  • Safety Features: The oven is intended for household use only. It requires proper installation by a qualified technician and adherence to safety instructions to prevent electric shock, fire, or other hazards. It is crucial to ensure the power supply is disconnected before any maintenance or service.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: Regular cleaning is essential for the oven's continuous and safe operation. The oven should be turned off and allowed to cool completely before cleaning. Mild cleaning products or emulsions are recommended for removing grease. Specialized cleaning products like Collo Luneta, Sidol Stahlglanz, Stahl-Fix, and Cera Fix are also suggested. The oven interior should be cleaned after every use, with the light on for better visibility.
  • Oven Door Removal: The oven door can be removed for thorough cleaning. This involves opening the door fully, lifting and turning small levers on the hinges, gripping the door on the two external sides, and pulling it out of its seat.
  • Internal Glass Panel Removal: The internal glass panel can be disassembled for cleaning. This process involves unscrewing and unfastening plastic latches, removing the second blocking mechanism, and then cleaning, inserting, and blocking the glass panel. There are specific methods for disassembly, including using a pointed tool or a cross screwdriver, depending on the model.
  • Oven Light Bulb Replacement: The oven light bulb can be replaced by setting all control knobs to "OFF" and "STOP," disconnecting the mains plug, unscrewing the lamp cover, and replacing the bulb with a new one (572°F/300°C, 240V, 25W).
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the fan noise, "tinted" or "rainbow" colored oven glass, long preheating times, and light bulb failure. It also outlines steps for emergency situations, including switching off all working units, disconnecting the mains plug, and contacting Thermomate for after-sale service.
