Questions and Answers

    Lisa BartonAug 2, 2025
What to do if Thermo Pride Air Handlers motor won’t start?
    • M
      Martin OrrAug 2, 2025
If the motor won't start, begin by checking the power at the motor and the low voltage (24 VAC R to C). Inspect the low voltage connections (G, PWM, W, R, C) at the motor, and ensure there are no unseated pins in the connectors on the motor harness. Try a temporary jumper between R and G. Check the motor for a tight shaft, perform a motor/control replacement check, and run a moisture check.

What does evidence of moisture mean in Thermo Pride AH2436AE1 Air Handlers?
    • J
      John BrownAug 6, 2025
If there is evidence of moisture, it indicates that motor failure or malfunction has occurred and moisture is present. Replace the motor and perform a Moisture Check. It is also recommended to perform a Moisture Check.

Why does my Thermo Pride AH2436AE1 Air Handlers stay at low CFM?
    • R
      reevesgeorgeAug 11, 2025
If your system stays at low CFM despite a call for cool or heat CFM, check the low voltage (thermostat) wires and connections. Also, verify that the fan is not in delay mode by waiting until the delay is complete. Ensure that the “R” wire is present and properly connected at the motor.

    Emily MoyerAug 15, 2025
What causes Thermo Pride AH2436AE1 Air Handlers blower to not shut off?
    • A
      Andre HayesAug 15, 2025
The blower might not shut off due to current leakage from the controls into G, Y, or W. Check for a Triac switched thermostat or a solid-state relay.

What to do if Thermo Pride AH2436AE1 Air Handlers motor starts but runs erratically?
    • J
      Jeffrey LiuAug 19, 2025
If the motor starts but runs erratically, check the line voltage for variation or sag. Inspect the low voltage connections (G, PWM, W, R, C) at the motor and look for unseated pins in the motor harness connectors. Check the “Bk” for an erratic CFM command (in variable speed applications). Check the system controls, including the thermostat, and perform a moisture check.

Why does my Thermo Pride AH2436AE1 Air Handlers stay at high CFM?
    • T
      thomaschaseAug 25, 2025
The fan may be in delay mode, so wait until the delay time is complete. Ensure that the “R” wire is properly connected at the motor. Also, perform a motor/control replacement check.
  • Z
    zhollandAug 28, 2025
What to do if Thermo Pride AH2436AE1 Air Handlers motor rocks but won’t start?
    • D
      Dakota PetersonAug 28, 2025
If the motor rocks but won’t start, check for a loose or compliant motor mount. Make sure the blower wheel is tight on the shaft, and perform a motor/control replacement check.
