MANUAL BRAKE BUTTON
ADJUSTMENT DIAL
Instructions & Safety
HOW TO OPERATE
The Dial-A-Distance Retractable operates
in a very similar manner to most other
retractable leashes, with one major
difference…Dial-A-Distance will
automatically stop extending at the
maximum length you choose! It just
takes a second to adjust. Whenever the
leash is extended to the distance you
choose as safe for your environment,
our patent-pending autobrake will
automatically stop your leash from
extending further. In addition, you still
have the manual thumb brake to use
whenever needed. Simply follow the
instructions below.
TO SET MAXIMUM LENGTH
FOR AUTOBRAKE
With leash fully retracted, simply press
in the Adjustment Dial and rotate to your
desired maximum length from 0 to 15
feet. Whenever the leash extends to that
length, our patent-pending autobrake
will automatically stop the leash from
extending further.
If the Adjustment Dial is turned past “15”
at any time, the autobrake will be disen-
gaged until you manually turn the
Adjustment Dial back to 15 or less.
LENGTH REMAINING TO EXTEND
BEFORE AUTOBRAKE ENGAGES
You’ll notice that as the leash extends
and retracts, the Adjustment Dial rotates.
The number pointed to by the Dial is the
length remaining before the autobrake
engages (unless it is set higher than “15”;
see above).
ADJUSTING DIAL WITH LEASH
PARTIALLY EXTENDED
If you adjust the Dial while the leash is
already partially extended, the new setting
will INDICATE THE AMOUNT OF LEASH
REMAINING UNTIL AUTOBRAKE. The Dial
will NOT indicate the new maximum
length until the leash is fully retracted.
TO MANUALLY STOP LEASH
FROM FURTHER EXTENDING
At any time, you may also simply press
the Manual Brake Button down with your
thumb to immediately stop the leash from
further extending.
TO LOCK/RELEASE
THE MANUAL BRAKE BUTTON
To lock, press the Manual Brake Button
forward and the leash will remain at a
fixed length until it is released. To release,
slide Manual Brake Button backward and
the leash will extend and retract as usual.
