Important advice from our Support Sta: Don’t “dive in” and switch everything immediately to your TimePilot system. Our customers
have the best results when they start slowly and run TimePilot alongside their current system for a pay period or two.

Overview

The TimePilot Extreme Blue II Enhanced is a time and attendance tracking system designed for businesses to manage employee clock-ins and clock-outs efficiently. It leverages a combination of physical hardware, a smartphone application, and PC software, integrated with cloud services for data synchronization.

Function Description:

The core function of the TimePilot Extreme Blue II Enhanced system is to record employee work hours accurately. Employees clock in and out by touching an iButton to the time clock. This data is then collected via a smartphone app and synchronized through a cloud service (Dropbox) to the TimePilot Central software on a PC, where it can be processed for payroll and attendance management. The system is designed to be robust and weatherproof, allowing for flexible installation in various environments.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Time Clock: The Extreme Blue II time clock is a weatherproof device designed for outdoor and indoor use. It features two iButton probes ("In" and "Out") for recording transactions. It is secured to a mounting plate with a padlock, which also blocks access to the mounting screws, deterring theft.
  • iButtons: Small, durable electronic tokens used by employees to clock in and out. The system includes 10 iButtons and a special Management iButton.
  • Power: The time clock operates on 4 AA batteries.
  • Connectivity: The system utilizes a Blue Dot Receptor for assigning iButtons directly at the PC. Data transfer from the time clock to the smartphone app is done by touching the Management iButton to the clock's "Out" probe. Data synchronization between the smartphone app and the PC software is facilitated via Dropbox, a free cloud service.
  • Software:
    • TimePilot Extreme Blue II Enhanced App: A free smartphone application available for iPhones (iOS) and Android phones (Google Play). It allows for collecting data from the time clock, managing employee profiles (adding, editing, deleting), viewing individual employee transactions, and sending data to the cloud.
    • TimePilot Central Software: PC-based software installed from a CD (or downloadable from the TimePilot Support Center). This is the core of the TimePilot system, used for setting up the system, managing employee profiles, retrieving data from the cloud, and processing time and attendance information.
    • Clock Manager: A component of the TimePilot Central software used to connect time clocks to the PC software, send employee profiles to the phone, and retrieve transactions from the phone.
  • Security: The physical clock is designed to deter theft by blocking access to mounting screws when locked. Data transfer uses a secure cloud service (Dropbox).

Usage Features:

  • Installation:
    1. Unpacking: The box includes the Extreme Blue II time clock, 10 iButtons, a Management iButton, a mounting plate, a padlock, 4 AA batteries, a Blue Dot Receptor, a USB drive, and a software CD.
    2. Padlock Preparation: Set a combination on the padlock according to its instructions.
    3. Clock Mounting: Screw the mounting plate to a wall or stud. Mount the weatherproof clock vertically, shielded from elements but accessible. Hook the clock onto the plate and use the padlock to secure it through the loop at the bottom, blocking access to mounting screws.

  • Battery Replacement: The time clock uses 4 AA batteries. No specific instructions are provided for replacement, but it's implied to be a user-serviceable task.
  • Software Updates: While not explicitly detailed as a maintenance feature, the system's reliance on software (PC and app) and cloud services suggests that updates would be managed through standard software update procedures.
