Why is steam leaking from the outlet of my TLV Fan?
    • T
      Thomas BooneJul 29, 2025
Steam leakage from the outlet of your TLV Fan can occur due to several reasons. Rust or scale may be present between the X-element valve and valve seat, in which case you should clean the parts. The X-element valve and valve seat may be damaged, requiring replacement with a new X-element and/or cover (LA13L: also the valve seat). A broken X-element also needs replacement. Improper installation or air vent vibration (which can be fixed by lengthening the inlet piping and fastening it securely) could also be the cause.

What to do if my TLV Fan is not discharging air properly?

      Spencer WilkinsonAug 7, 2025
If your TLV Fan isn't discharging air properly, several issues could be the cause. The X-element might be stuck to the valve seat, or the valve seat itself could be blocked; in either case, cleaning the parts or replacing the valve seat/cover (LA13L) is recommended. A clogged screen can also cause this issue, so cleaning the parts is advised. Also, make sure that the air vent operating pressure doesn't exceed the maximum specified pressure, and that there is sufficient pressure differential between the air vent inlet and outlet. Compare the specifications with the actual operating conditions.

How to fix steam leaking from my TLV Fan (not the outlet)?
    • S
      Samantha LewisAug 18, 2025
If steam is leaking from somewhere other than the outlet on your TLV Fan, it's likely due to gasket deterioration or damage, in which case you should replace it with a new gasket. It could also be due to improper tightening torques, so ensure you tighten to the proper torque.
