Why is my TLV Water Pump PowerTrap not working?
    • H
      higginspatrickAug 14, 2025
Your TLV Water Pump PowerTrap might not be working due to several reasons. Begin by ensuring that the valves on the motive medium supply, exhaust, condensate inlet, and condensate outlet pipes are open. A closed valve will prevent operation. Also, a clogged strainer can impede performance, so clean it. Insufficient or faulty motive, back, or condensate inlet pressure can also be a factor; adjust the pressure reducing valve or connect to a separate high-pressure line if the motive medium pressure is decreasing. Finally, a faulty PowerTrap itself could be the issue. Disassemble it and check the float, snap-action unit, and valves for any obstructions or damage. Repair or replace the PowerTrap as needed.

How to troubleshoot a TLV Water Pump PowerTrap that won't start?

To troubleshoot a TLV Water Pump PowerTrap that won't start, first, verify that all valves on the motive medium supply, exhaust, condensate inlet, and outlet pipes are fully open. Next, check the strainer for any blockages and clean it thoroughly. If the motive medium pressure is insufficient, adjust the pressure reducing valve on the supply pipe or connect it to a separate high-pressure line. Also, ensure that the motive medium supply pipe is adequately sized (at least 15 mm or ½”). If the problem persists, disassemble the PowerTrap to inspect the float and snap-action unit for proper operation, and examine the motive medium intake and exhaust valves for any obstructions. Repair any defects or replace the PowerTrap if necessary.

What to do if my TLV Water Pump PowerTrap does not operate?
    • P
      pamela32Nov 3, 2025
If your TLV Water Pump PowerTrap is not operating, several factors could be the cause. Start by checking if any of the valves on the motive medium supply, exhaust, condensate inlet, or condensate outlet pipes are closed and slowly open if needed. Also, inspect the strainer for clogs and clean it if necessary. Check the motive, back, or condensate inlet pressure. If the motive medium pressure is decreasing, adjust the pressure reducing valve on the supply pipe or connect to a separate high-pressure line. Ensure there is sufficient motive medium, and if the supply pipe is too small, replace it with a larger one (at least 15 mm or ½”). If these steps don't resolve the issue, disassemble the PowerTrap and inspect the float, snap-action unit, motive medium intake and exhaust valves for dirt, sc...
