Overview

This document describes the TMC Electric Toilets, models TMC-29920, TMC-29930, TMC-29921, and TMC-29932, which are CE Certified and meet ISO 8846 MARINE (Ignition Protection) standards.

Function Description

The TMC Electric Toilets are designed for marine use, featuring a self-macerating combined pump that handles both water intake and discharge. They offer convenient flush operation with options for a switch box or a flush panel. The toilets are equipped with adaptors (25 to 19mm or 38mm) for flexible connection options. They can be installed either above or below the waterline, with specific plumbing requirements depending on the installation height relative to the waterline.

Important Technical Specifications

The toilets feature a top-quality vitreous china bowl and a solid plastic seat and cover with a slow-close mechanism.

Consumption:

  • 12V models: 18 Amps, requiring a 30 Amp fuse.
  • 24V models: 9 Amps, requiring a 15 Amp fuse.

Max. Head: 4 meters (13 feet).

Hose Connections:

  • Inlet Hose: 25mm (1 inch).
  • Discharge Hose: 25mm (1 inch).

Dimensions (mm/in):

Wiring:

  • TMC-99902S Switch Box: Connects Red to Red, Black to Black, with a positive (+) and negative (-) connection to the battery.
  • TMC-0240401 Flush Panel: Connects Red to Red, Black to Black, with positive (+) and negative (-) connections to the battery.

Usage Features

Installation Flexibility:

  • Can be installed above or below the waterline.
  • The outlet port can be rotated 360° to achieve the desired position, then fastened with screws.
  • The toilet base should be mounted on a flat surface using M8 screws through three 10mm diameter base holes.

Plumbing Connections:

  • Inlet hose (25mm/1” ID) connections must be airtight and free of sharp bends or restrictions.
  • Discharge hose (25mm/1”) connects to a holding tank or other discharge system, avoiding sharp bends.
  • For above-waterline installations, a check valve (optional) may be needed for rapid pump priming. A loop of about 20 cm (8 inches) in the discharge line above the bowl base helps retain water in the bowl.
  • Do not connect the inlet hose to a pressurized water system.
  • For installations where the toilet can be below the waterline at any vessel attitude, a 1” vented loop fitting must be installed in the inlet pipework, positioned above the waterline at all times to prevent backflow of waste.
  • Waste can be stored in a holding tank and discharged at a pump-out station.

Slow-Close Feature:

  • Designed to prevent slamming or sudden dropping of the seat.
  • The seat and cover can be slow-closed individually.
  • The slow-close feature activates when the seat and cover are bent over 70 degrees.

Maintenance Features

Troubleshooting Clogging:

  1. Disconnect pumping inlet and discharge hoses.
  2. Remove four screws.
  3. Pull out the complete motor, pump, and macerator assembly from the base.
  4. Clean out any clogging materials.
  5. Reassemble the pump unit, following the indicated direction.
  6. Install the non-return valve back in position.
  7. The outlet port can be rotated 360° to the desired position before fastening with screws.

Troubleshooting Stuck Impeller:

  • If the electric pump has been idle for a period, the impeller may get stuck.
  • Rotate the impeller from the outside to prevent damage from high current during startup.
  • Alternatively, put some water in the bowl to wet the pump before initial use.

Cautions:

  • Always close sea-cocks when leaving the boat unattended or when the toilet is not in use to prevent flooding.
  • Do not apply flame or heat to hoses.
  • Do not apply sealing compounds to any hose connection.
  • Avoid using thick liquid toilet cleansers or neat bleach, as they can damage valves, gaskets, and seals.
  • If plumbed to the vessel's portable water supply, install an anti-siphon breaker valve on the toilet inlet pipework to prevent water supply contamination.
  • Do not dismantle the product without authorized technician help. Contact the seller or dealer for questions.
  • Ensure correct motor polarity (Red to positive (+), Black to negative (-)) to avoid motor damage and voiding warranty. Full voltage is required for proper operation.
  • The toilet bowl is made of fragile vitreous china; handle with care and avoid dropping it from a height or with heavy force.
