Why does my TMG TMG-GSB30 engine stop suddenly?
    • E
      Evelyn HerreraAug 21, 2025
If your TMG Snow Blower engine stops suddenly, it might be due to several reasons. One common cause is low quality or old gasoline; drain the fuel and add fresh 87+ octane unleaded gasoline. Another reason could be a defective fuel cap creating a vacuum; test and replace the fuel cap if necessary. An improper idle speed can also cause the engine to stop; move the choke to the RUN position. If none of these solutions work, the issue might be incorrect timing, deposit buildup, a worn engine, or another mechanical problem, which requires a qualified technician.

If your TMG Snow Blower engine misfires, backfires, or knocks, start by checking the spark plug wire to ensure it's tight. An incorrect spark plug gap can also cause these issues, so reset it according to specifications. If the spark plug or wire is broken, replace them. Low quality or old gasoline is another potential cause; drain the fuel and add fresh 87+ octane unleaded gasoline. If the engine is too cold, use cold weather fuel and oil additives. Finally, avoid overloading the engine by not exceeding the recommended load rating.

      Dr. Hunter HamiltonNov 10, 2025
If your TMG Snow Blower engine won't start, there might be several reasons. First, ensure you have enough fuel and the fuel valve is open. If that's not the case, the choke might not be in the start position; place it in the START position and pull the recoil starter. Also, check if the gasoline is old or of low quality; if so, drain it and add fresh 87+ octane unleaded gasoline. Dirty fuel passageways can also block fuel flow, so try cleaning them with a fuel additive. A stuck carburetor needle can also prevent starting; gently tap the side of the carburetor with a screwdriver handle. If there's too much fuel in the chamber, turn the choke to the RUN position. Make sure the spark plug wire is securely connected to the spark plug. If the spark plug electrode is wet or dirty, remove and cle...
