Why my TOHATSU Engine failing to start?
- JJohn AndersonJul 30, 2025
If your TOHATSU Engine fails to start, several factors could be the cause. First, check and refill the fuel tank if it's empty. Ensure the fuel system connections are correctly connected, and inspect the fuel line for any air leaks. Replace any deformed or damaged fuel hose. Make sure the air vent on the fuel tank is open. Also, clean or replace any clogged components like the fuel filter, fuel pump, or carburetor. Verify you are using the specified type of spark plug. Check the ignition system for faults if there's no spark or a weak spark. Perform a compression test if you suspect low compression. Clean the combustion chamber if there are carbon deposits. Finally, adjust the valve clearance if it's incorrect.
