Overview

The Tommee Tippee Ultra UV 3-in-1 UV Sterilizer, Dryer, and Storage unit is designed for household use to sterilize, dry, and store baby bottles and other items. It utilizes UV light for sterilization and hot air for drying, offering a convenient and chemical-free method for maintaining hygiene.

Function Description:

The device offers three primary functions: sterilization, drying, and storage, which can be used individually or in combination.

  • Sterilize only function: This mode uses UV light to sterilize items. It can be set for 35 minutes (single press) or 45 minutes (double press) of sterilization.
  • Drying only function: This mode uses hot air to dry items. It can be set for 30 minutes (single press), 40 minutes (double press), or 50 minutes (triple press) of drying.
  • Auto mode: This combines drying and sterilization into a single cycle. The total cycle duration is 60 minutes, with 25 minutes dedicated to drying and 35 minutes to sterilization and drying.
  • Storage function: When activated alongside any of the other functions, this mode ensures items remain sterile for an extended period. The sterilizer runs a program that emits 5 minutes of UV light and 5 minutes of drying every 2 hours. This cycle continues until the sterilizer is switched off via the power button. Users can open the door, remove an item, and then press the storage button again to maintain the sterility of the remaining items.
  • Power on/off: A dedicated button allows users to switch the sterilizer on and off.

The device features a countdown timer on its screen to indicate the remaining time in a cycle. An alert sounds when buttons are pressed or when the door is opened/closed. The button sound can be toggled on or off, but the door sound cannot.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model number: ZTD10XB-8016
  • Voltage: 110V
  • Frequency: 60Hz
  • Power: 67W
  • UV Light Bulb: Philips G4 TUV 4W T5 Mini. The bulb has an estimated lifespan of 6,000 hours before needing replacement. UV bulbs contain a watermark and should not be crushed, broken, or opened. They should be disposed of according to local waste management guidelines.
  • Dimensions: The unit is designed to be placed on a flat, heat-resistant surface, at least 4 inches away from a wall for proper ventilation.

Usage Features:

  • Preparation: Before first use, all parts should be removed from the box, shelves placed inside, and the unit wiped clean with a damp cloth. Items to be sterilized should be washed in warm soapy water, rinsed, and drained before being placed in the sterilizer. It is crucial not to place dripping wet items inside to prevent water accumulation at the base. All components should be separated, and surfaces needing sterilization should be visible. Bottles should be placed facing upwards to aid the drying function.
  • Operation: After plugging in, users select the desired function (sterilize only, dry only, auto sterilize and dry, or storage) using the on/off button. The screen illuminates and flashes to indicate the active function, displaying the countdown timer.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Do not move the appliance when in use.
    • Use in a well-ventilated area.
    • Do not sterilize electrical components.
    • Avoid touching hot surfaces; allow to cool before handling.
    • Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified person.
    • Keep the cord away from hot surfaces and sharp edges.
    • Do not immerse the unit, cord, or plugs in water or other liquids.
    • This appliance contains a UV emitter; do not stare at the light source.
    • If the UV light remains on when the door is open, or if the door is damaged or missing, do not use the sterilizer.
    • Do not take items out during sterilization.
    • Hot air is released during use; keep hands, face, and other body parts away.
    • The UV lamp bulb will be hot after sterilization; do not touch.
    • Surfaces are liable to get hot during use.
    • If the door is opened during a cycle, the cycle will pause. For sterilization, it's best to restart the cycle.
    • To stop a function, press the active button until the lights turn off.
    • If the sterilizer malfunctions, allow it to cool for 5 minutes before attempting to restart.
    • If items block the outlet, unplug, cool for 5 minutes, remove items, and try again.
  • Post-cycle: After a cycle, the countdown shows '0' and an audible sound is emitted. Items may still be warm, especially after drying. Baby bottles sterilized in the UV sterilizer may become slightly yellowed over time, which is normal and does not affect safety. A faint odor may be present during first use, which is also normal.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: No descaling is required for this product. Regular cleaning (every 1-2 days) is recommended to maintain performance.
    • Turn off the power supply and allow the sterilizer to cool down before cleaning.
    • Use a clean damp cloth to clean the inner and outer walls. Do not immerse the sterilizer in water.
    • Avoid using vinegar or other chemicals, as they can cause damage.

    1. Open the filter screen.
    2. Remove the old sponge filter.
