Usage Features

Starting and Operation: The generator can be started using an electric starter or a remote control. It is crucial to follow the safety guidelines before starting, including checking fuel and oil levels, ensuring the generator is on a flat, level surface, and connecting only appropriate loads. The operation panel includes an Intelligauge display that shows total run time, current session run time, and output voltage/frequency.

Fuel and Engine Safety:

  • Fuel Type: Use clean, fresh, regular unleaded fuel with a minimum octane rating of 85 and an ethanol content of less than 10%.
  • Fuel Filling: Fill the fuel tank slowly to avoid spills. Do not overfill.
  • Engine Oil: Use 10W-30 automotive oil. Check oil level daily and add as needed.
  • Choke: The choke is used for starting the engine, especially when cold. It should be pushed in to the "Run" position once the engine starts.
  • Electrical Start: Press and hold the ignition switch to the "START" position. Release as the engine begins to roll over.
  • Recoil Start: Pull the starter cord slowly until resistance is felt, then pull rapidly.
  • Remote Start: The remote control allows starting and stopping the generator from a distance.

Connecting Electrical Loads:

  • The generator provides 230 Volt AC single-phase 50 Hz electrical loads.
  • It supports 12V DC outlet connections, suitable for charging automotive style batteries or powering small 12V DC accessories.
  • Always ensure the generator is running before connecting loads.
  • Do not overload the generator.

Safety Guidelines:

  • Work Area Safety: Operate in a well-ventilated area, away from combustible materials. Ensure the generator is on a firm, level surface.
  • Electrical Safety: Do not use in wet conditions. Always use properly grounded tools and machinery. Avoid touching damaged power cords.
  • Fuel & Engine Safety: Gasoline and its vapours are highly flammable. Do not refuel while the engine is running or hot. Avoid spilling fuel.
  • Carbon Monoxide: Operate outdoors only. Exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide, which is a poisonous gas.
  • Personal Safety: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) like eye protection, ear protection, and dust masks. Avoid loose clothing or jewelry that could get caught in moving parts.

Maintenance Features

Regular Maintenance Schedule:

  • Every 8 Hours, or Daily: Check oil level.
  • Every 50 Hours, or Every Season: Clean air filter.
  • Every 250 Hours: Clean combustion chamber.
  • Every 3 Years: Replace fuel line.

Specific Maintenance Tasks:

  • Air Filter: Remove the snap-on cover, wash the foam element in liquid detergent and water, squeeze thoroughly dry, and reassemble. Replace the air filter cover and snap in place.
  • Spark Arrester: Allow the engine to cool, remove the two (2) screws holding the cover plate, remove the spark arrester screen, clean it with a wire brush, replace the screen, and reassemble.
  • Spark Plugs: Remove the spark plug cable, use a spark plug socket to remove the plug. Inspect the electrode and clean or replace if worn. Ensure the spark plug gap is 0.7-0.8 mm.
  • Oil Change: Drain the old oil, then refill with 1.1 litres of 10W-30 automotive oil. Do not overfill.
  • Fuel System: Periodically clean the fuel tank and fuel filter. Replace the fuel line every three years.
  • Storage: For short-term storage (less than 1 year), ensure the fuel tank is full and the carburetor is completely drained of gasoline. For long-term storage, add a formulated fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank. Run the generator for 10 minutes so the treated fuel cycles through the fuel system and carburetor. Turn the fuel valve to the "OFF" position and let the generator run until fuel starvation has stopped the engine. Drain the carburetor. Clean the air filter and spark arrester. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting: The manual includes a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the generator not starting, running roughly, or not producing power, along with suggested solutions.
