Overview

The TOPDON ArtiLink600 is an advanced OBD2 scan tool designed for diagnosing and maintaining vehicles from 1996 and newer (OBDII & CAN). It offers a comprehensive suite of diagnostic capabilities and reset services, making it suitable for experienced DIYers, automotive mechanics, and garage owners.

Function Description:

The ArtiLink600 provides a wide range of diagnostic functions, including:

  • ABS/SRS Systems Diagnosing: This function allows users to diagnose Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) and Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) issues. It can read version information, read and clear fault codes, read data streams, and perform active tests for these systems.
  • Reset Services: The device features three commonly used reset services for daily vehicle maintenance:
    • Oil Reset: Resets the oil service lamp for the engine oil life system, which calculates optimal oil life change intervals based on driving conditions. This is useful after an oil change or if the service lamp is on.
    • Steering Angle Reset: Resets the steering angle, necessary after replacing the steering angle position sensor, steering mechanical parts (e.g., steering gearbox, column, end tie rod, steering knuckle), performing four-wheel alignment, or recovering the car body.
    • Battery Maintenance System Reset: Performs a resetting operation on the vehicle battery's monitoring unit, clearing low battery fault information and matching the battery. This is required when the main battery or battery monitoring sensor is replaced.
  • OBDII/EOBD Diagnosing: After connecting to the vehicle's DLC, the scanner automatically checks the communication protocol and establishes a link. It then displays monitor status information, including MIL status, DTCs in the ECU, readiness status (completed, not completed, not supported), datastream supported, and ignition type.
    • Read Codes: Identifies which section of the emission control system has malfunctioned by reading SAE-standard DTCs. If a code is manufacturer-specific, the user can select the manufacturer to view its definition.
    • Erase Codes: Clears codes from the vehicle after retrieving them and performing necessary repairs.
    • I/M Readiness: Checks if various emissions-related systems are operating properly and are ready for Inspection and Maintenance testing. It also confirms if car fault repairs have been performed correctly.
    • Data Stream: Retrieves and displays live data and parameters from the vehicle's ECU.
    • View Freeze Frame: Captures a snapshot of operating conditions when an emission-related fault occurs.
    • O2 Sensor Test: Retrieves O2 sensor monitor test results from the vehicle's on-board computer.
    • On-Board Monitor Test: Retrieves test results for emission-related powertrain components and systems that are not continuously monitored.
    • EVAP System Test: Initiates a leak test for the vehicle's EVAP system.
    • Vehicle Info: Retrieves vehicle information from the on-board computer, including VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), CID (Calibration ID), and CVN (Calibration Verification Number).
  • Review: Allows users to review or delete recorded DTCs, Data Streams, and Freeze Frame data.
  • DTC Lookup: Enables users to view detailed definitions of retrieved DTCs by manually inputting the code. It also provides diagnostic tips/solutions.
  • Print: Facilitates printing of records saved from Read Codes or Data Stream by connecting the scanner to a computer via a USB cable.
  • Help: Provides information about the scanner, including DLC location, abbreviations of automotive terms, tool information (serial number, register code), and an introduction to OBD.
  • Settings: Allows users to configure the tool setup, including language, unit of measure, beeper (on/off), and record mode (on/off).
  • Register & Update: Enables users to register the product and update the software via a computer with internet access. The update process involves downloading and installing the TOPDON ArtiLink600 Update software package, connecting the device, and running the update tool.
