Why does my Tornado Ventilation Hood trip the building circuit breaker?
    • T
      Tammie GarciaAug 17, 2025
If your Tornado Ventilation Hood trips the building circuit breaker, it might be due to an overloaded circuit. Try moving the cord to a different wall outlet. If you're using an extension cord, ensure it's in good condition, less than 70 feet long, and AWG#10 gauge or heavier. Also, inspect the plug end and cord for any signs of damage.

What to do if the vacuum or pump of my Tornado Ventilation Hood will not run?
    • R
      Robert GriffithAug 20, 2025
If the vacuum or pump on your Tornado Ventilation Hood won't run, first, ensure the electrical cord is firmly seated in the wall outlet. Next, check and reset the building circuit breaker if it has tripped. Finally, verify that the vacuum/pump switch is in the “on” position.

What to do if the pump of my Tornado Ventilation Hood won’t run?
    • J
      Julia PadillaAug 22, 2025
If the pump on your Tornado Ventilation Hood isn’t running, check that the pump switch is in the “on” position. Also, check the pump circuit breaker (5 amp) and reset it if tripped. Ensure the fluid level is at least 5 gallons in the tank. Verify the fluid level inside the Main Filter Cage; the pump float must be at the highest position to operate. If the fluid is lower inside the filter, drain the tank and remove and clean the filter.

Why does the pump of my Tornado Ventilation Hood start and stop?
    • O
      oliverjohnAug 28, 2025
If the pump on your Tornado Ventilation Hood starts and stops, check for a dirty Main Filter, ensuring the water level is the same inside and outside of the filter. Also, check for a sticking pump float and verify that the fluid level is at least 5 gallons in the tank.

What to do if the pump of my Tornado Ventilation Hood tries to run and then blows circuit breaker?
    • J
      Jessica RobertsonAug 31, 2025
If the pump of your Tornado Ventilation Hood tries to run and then blows the circuit breaker, check the power cord for frayed, cut, or worn spots. If you're using an extension cord, make sure it is in good condition, less than 70 feet long, and AWG #10 gauge or heavier. Check the pump static PSI to ensure it is 400 psi or less. Also, check the wall outlet voltage; the pump will not work if it is below 105 volts.

How to fix streaks on carpet after using Tornado Ventilation Hood?
    • R
      Ryan RobertsSep 2, 2025
If you notice streaks on the carpet after using your Tornado Ventilation Hood, check the tool and hose for any obstructions. Clean the inline strainer filter, main filter, and the stainless back flush filter screen inside the tank. Ensure the nozzles provide a full spray; clean if clogged or replace if worn. Monitor the pump pressure drop while cleaning, ensuring it doesn't drop more than 100 p.s.i. Make sure air is out of the system by re-priming the pump. If the problem persists, remove and clean the back flush filter screen. Overlap strokes by a minimum of 3 inches and check the CFR chemical usage instructions for proper application. Multiple cleanings with offset passes by 6 inches may be needed for deeply embedded dirt.

How to fix excessive pressure drop when cleaning with Tornado Ventilation Hood?
    • B
      Billy DodsonSep 8, 2025
If you experience an excessive pressure drop when cleaning with your Tornado Ventilation Hood, adjust the static pressure to 500/750 p.s.i. when not cleaning (if it exceeds 100 p.s.i.). Check and clean the main filter and inner stainless back flush filter. Replace worn spray nozzles and loose or leaking fittings on the hose. Purge excess air from the pumping system using a hose with no nozzle or priming hose.

What to do if the vacuum hose or tool of Tornado PRO leaks?
    • W
      Wayne GlennSep 12, 2025
If your Tornado Ventilation Hood vacuum hose or tool leaks, leave the vacuum running for 1 minute after you finish cleaning to clear the hose. Check the vacuum hose for holes or breaks. Make sure the inline strainer is properly tightened and the fluid hose connectors are fully seated.

Why is water dripping from the bottom of my Tornado PRO exhaust?
    • J
      Joseph FisherSep 13, 2025
If water is dripping from the bottom of the machine exhaust of your Tornado Ventilation Hood, this may be caused by excess foaming. Add CFR Defoam to the tool hose and tank. Open the machine's top cover and let the vacuum run for 10 minutes to dry out the vacuum motor, then close the lid and resume cleaning.
