Ensure the oil level in the crankcase is adequate by adding oil. Clear any obstructions from the cooling fins and air passages under the engine blower housing. Replace the spark plug(s) if they are pitted, fouled, or have an incorrect gap. Open the vent in the fuel cap if it's closed. Also, replace the fuel filter if it's dirty.

Check if a blade mounting bolt is loose and tighten it.
