  Abnormal vibration in your Toro Lawn Mower can be caused by several factors. The cutting blade(s) might be bent or unbalanced, in which case you should install new cutting blade(s). The blade mounting bolt or engine mounting bolts could be loose, so tighten them. Also, check for a loose engine pulley, idler pulley, or blade pulley and tighten the appropriate pulley. For a damaged engine pulley, bent blade spindle, or loose/worn motor mount, contact an Authorized Service Dealer.

  If your Toro Lawn Mower doesn't drive, check if the by pass valves are not closed tight and tighten them. Other possible causes include a worn, loose, or broken pump belt (change the belt), a pump belt that is off a pulley (change the belt), a broken or missing idler spring (replace the spring), or a low/too hot hydraulic oil level (add hydraulic oil to reservoirs or let it cool down).

Why aren't the blades rotating on my Toro 74871?

  If the blades on your Toro Lawn Mower aren't rotating, it could be due to a worn, loose, or broken mower deck belt (install new deck belt). Another cause might be that the mower deck belt is off the pulley (install mower deck pulley and check the idler pulley, idler arm and spring for correct position and function). Also, check for a worn, loose, or broken pump drive belt (check the belt tension or install new belt) or a broken/missing idler spring (replace the spring).
