ReplacingtheDriveBelt
Ifdrivebeltbecomesworn,oil-soaked,excessively
cracked,frayed,orotherwisedamaged,replacethe
belt.
1.Removethe4boltsthatholdthedrive-beltcover
(Figure29)inplace.

coverisfasteneddownwithasmallerbolt,a
washer,andalocknut.
2.Removethebeltfromtherotorpulley.
3.Pressdownontheidlerarmandremovethe
beltfrombetweenthetabontheidler-armbrake
andtherotorpulley.
Note:Thebeltguidefortheenginepulleyis
veryclosetothepulley,andthebeltmaynott
throughthegap.
4.Twistthebeltoutinfrontofthebeltguidesothat
thebeltiswedgedbetweenthebeltguideand
theenginepulley.
5.Insertascrewdriverintotheholeinthebelt
guideasshowninFigure30,andexthebelt
guidetowardtherotorpulleyenoughtopullthe
beltthroughthegap.
