Why is my Toro Spreader leaking hydraulic fluid?
    • D
      Deborah DavisAug 5, 2025
If the machine leaks hydraulic fluid, it could be due to several reasons. Check if the fittings or the oil filter are loose and tighten them. A missing O-ring on a fitting can also cause leaks, so install one if necessary. Finally, if the hydraulic reservoir is overfilled, remove some fluid.

What to do if the conveyer belt or brush on my Toro Topdresser 2500 Spreader isn't working?
    • B
      Brenda JonesAug 12, 2025
If the conveyer belt and/or brush does not function, verify the following: * Ensure the solenoid wiring is providing 12 V by checking the fuse and electrical connections. * Check the hand control switch for wear or damage, testing for continuity and the diode in the electrical solenoid connector. * Confirm the hydraulic motors/pumps are turning by inspecting the wheel-drive chain. * Examine the conveyer belt tension to ensure it is properly adjusted, because the conveyer belt can slip.

How to fix a misaligned conveyer belt on a Toro Topdresser 2500?
    • J
      Justin RossAug 20, 2025
If the conveyer belt is misaligned or moves off track, you should: 1. Adjust the side-to-side distance of the rollers to ensure equal center distance. 2. Make sure that the springs are compressed equally at each side of the machine to correct the belt tension. 3. Tighten the bearing lock collars securing the roller. 4. Align the belt rib with the groove in rollers.

Why is my Toro Topdresser 2500 Spreader so hard to pull?
    • J
      Jeffrey BrownAug 27, 2025
If the topdresser is hard to pull with the traction unit, the hydraulic plumbing might be reversed, preventing the wheel motors/pumps from turning. Another cause could be an activated brake solenoid, so check the wiring. Lastly, hot hydraulic oil can also make it difficult to pull; correct the condition.
