Connecting your TV

• Coaxial cable is the cablethat comesin from yourantenna,cableTVservice,
or cable converterbox.Coaxialcableuses"F' connectors.
• Standard stereoA/V cablesusuallycome in setsof three, and are typically
color-codedaccording to use:yellowfor video,red for stereoright audio,and
white for stereoleft (ormono) audio.YourTV'sstandardA/V inputs are
color-coded in the samemanneras the cables.
• S-Video cable isfor usewith video equipmentthat hasS-Videoconnectors.
• Component videocables come in setsof three (typicallycolor-coded red,
green,and blue),and are for usewith videoequipment that hascomponentvideo
connectors.Your W's ColorStream_'(componentvideo)inputs arecolor-coded in
the samemannerasthe cables.
NOTEREGARDINGPICTUREQUALITY
When connectingvideo equipmentto your ToshibaTV:
• ForGOOD picturequality: Usea standardyellowvideo cable.
• ForBETTERpicture quality: If your equipment hasS-videoconnectors,use
anS-videocableinstead of a standardyellowvideo cable.(Youstill must
connectthe standardred and white audio cablesfor full systemconnection,
but do not connecta standardyellow videocableatthe sametimeorthe
picture performancewill beunacceptable.)
• ForBESTpicture quality: If your equipment hascomponentvideo
connectors,usecomponent videocablesinstead of a standardyellow video
cableor S-videocable. (Youstill must connectthe standardredand white
audio cablesfor full systemconnection.)

Connecting a VCR
This connection allows you to watch local channels and video
programs, play or record on the VCR while watching TV, and record
from one channel while watching another channel.
You will need:
• two coaxial cables (one or more may be provided by your cable
company)
• one set of A/V cables

Note:
If you have amono VCR,connect L/Mono to
VCRAudio OUTusing onlyone audio cable.
ff you have an S-VHS VCR,usean S-video
cable (in the S-videojacks) insteadof the
standard video cable.
Do not connecta standardvideo cable and
an S-video cable to Video-1 (or Video-2)at
thesame time, or thepicture performance
willbe unacceptable.
