Connecting a DVD player or satellite receiver
and a VCR
This connection allows you to watch DVD/satellite, VCR, and TV
programs, record one TV channel while watching another channel,
and record satellite channels.
You will need:
two (or three, if satellite receiver is used) coaxial cables
(one or more may be provided by your cable or satellite
company)
two sets of standard A/V cables
one pair of standard audio cables
one S-video cable (between the TV and DVD player/satellite
receiver)

Note:
For the highestpossiblepicture qualityfrom
a non-component videoDVD player/satellite
receiver,use anS-video cable between the
TVand DVD player/satellite receive£(Ifyour
DVD player or satellitereceiver has
component video connections,seepage 70).
Do not connectboth an S-video cable and
a standard video cable between the TVand
DVD player/satellite receiverat the same
time, or the picture performance will be
unacceptable.
Do not connect the DVD player/satellite
receiver and VCRto the samevideo channel
on the TV (See the illustrations,which show
the DVD player/satellitereceiver connected to
Video-7 on the TVand the VCRconnected to
Video-2 on the TV)
